On Board Water

check out www.water-mates.com for the low profile water mate tanks or www.grangerplastics.com for some of their other stuff. Great guys to work with and they build really strong stuff! I hate headaches and hassles out on the road!

Tell 'em Leo Deveroe sent ya!

Gave them a call and just waiting to hear back about pricing...so far the Front Runner 52 liter tank has my vote, but this flat one that I can load all my gear on seems pretty sweet since I fold down my seats.

I pulled my 25 gal tank from and old pop up trailer. If you can locate a RV in a salvage yard you might try that route. paired with the shurflo pump and a kitchen sprayer, it works great! I agree that 25 gallons in a little overkill. I've yet to use more than half that amount during a long weekend.

My first setup

My first trailer has a 50 gallon tank I got from the hardware store, used for making pickles, before that it was 20 gallon tanks used to hold DrPepper. These were great tanks but don't have baffles and are cylinders.

When I make my new trailer this winter I’m going to use multiple 7 gallon jugs. This way I can pull them out and fill them up at the river if need be.

Maybe 50 gallons is a lot, but when you go camping with several other rigs and you pull out your kitchen with hot flowing water everyong want's to use it and it goes by fast.

This is an excellent idea, how much did you pay for yours?

What kind of salvage yard?

I dont think I have ever seen an RV in a yard looking for Jeep parts.

Also, I have got to say, I am suprised by all of the really strong opinions expressed in this thread. If the tank is rated for potable water or FDA approved and it is only used for a few weekends per year. I don't see the serious concern about health issues from the tank especially when compared to the water quality of some campsites.
