Decided to go another route so I am selling the complete set up for the cost in took me to source all items...no hassle for you. Included

Marc Olivares design heat exchanger (this is huge....with 18ft of copper wound super tight inside and more efficient than heltons design...and he does not sell them), shurflo pump, shurflo water filter, shower head with on off grip, toggle switch, all the hosing you will need, metal and plastic barbs, mounting strap, hose clamps etc....may have to buy a few connectors at home depot to make it work for your likings but pretty much complete.

225 shipped to your door

paypal is spindoctor_77@hotmail.com

Looks like a great setup. If it does in deed have a higher heat transfer rate than the Heltons then I would hightly recommend a contol valve of some sort be incorporated into the system (don't see one in the pic), its an cheap $20 worth of parts. The Helton Hot Water exhancgers can and do pump water in excess of 150 degrees, its theoretically possible for a heat exchanger to reach 180+ degrees with enough tubes in the shell. Too hot for a shower but easily resolved with a simple ball valve or used in conjunction with the heater control valve on the dash.

This is a great setup for $225 add the control valve or plumb it inline with your heater and you've got a kick butt shower

no write up...hooks inline anywhere on your cooling system and has a shurflo pump that sucks water out of a jerry can and circulates it through a heat exchanger and one pass through will give you a nice hot shower...roughtly it will take 50 deg water to 80 plus with one pass or more....simple as flip the toggle for the pump and exchange water through the exchanger and hit the shower button....you can even mount to quick disconnects anywhere you want for the water pickup and shower.....what else can I tell you.

i made the same type of exchanger,,, i would actually think that was mine if rover didnt know. i can say these copper exchangers do a great job and are easy to install inline of your heater hose anywhere you want it.
its a good heater setup for anyone thinking about it.

You answered the biggest question I had - I was curious about the impact it had on the factory cooling system with installing more lines for the coolant to flow through.

Any way to regulate water temperature?
How close will the water source need to be to the pump to keep it effective?

water source can be anywhere nearby...no real limitations...just will need more hose....some have even put one end in a stream but I recommend tap water secondary to the filtration issue....really does not add a significant amount of tubing to your system....i have received a few pms so let me know or forever hold your piece folks. dan
