First, more pics please, love those trucks. Second, hook the air to the main, you need to be running to have it on anyways. If you charge the house via the trailer harness then it will not be able to keep up with the discharge. You will drain the battery real fast running the compressor even if the truck is on high idle. It takes a lot of driving to re-charge via those little trailer wires. I was set up that exact way but just took it all out after killing a second battery. I was actually hoping to find a solution on this thread. Me thinks the best way is to run directly to the house from the second alternator. Questions I have is... will one alternator be enough when running a winch? Can the main batteries be discharged through a second alternator? Could the house and main be combined with a switch for jump starting in an emergency like on boats? You could just use the trailer wires to top off the house and supplement it with solar, keep the high draw stuff on the main.

I have the upgraded 220 alternator now. From what I understand its plenty to run the charging on the xtra house batt and ocasional winching. I have a manual disconnect on the added battery to go back to stock on high demands like winching if Iwanted to disconnect my fridge and such. I'm using the VSR unit to charge all the batts when driving, and automatically disconnect the main batts when parked/camped and using the house batt. This will prevent the main batts from ever getting discharged and leave me stranded. The main and House can be combined when the engine is running because its drawing from all batts. I am working on the right placement of a solar panel now.
