Tim and Kelsey get lost..
This is a good thread for oops shots.
This old timer left his coffee and notepad sitting on the back of the minivan. I tried to get his attention and he looked at me like I was trying to car jack him. Oh well. :sombrero:

nice, I tried to tell a lady she left her fuel cap on top of her car and she gave me that same look. People hate being helped.

Excelsior!
I can't remember what country I was in but, I was in an airport shuttle bus when our driver noticed something on top of a car. She sped up a bit and saw it was a wallet/passport on the roof. She started flashing her lights and when there was no response she honked her horn.

Of course, the other driver sped up!

Blammo, the contents of the wallet go flying in a cloudburst of paper money.

THEN the hapless driver notices and pulls over, flies out of the car and runs to recover his stuff! Our whole bus busted up laughing.

This kid claims he flipped his dad's Cherokee over after a deer jumped out in front of him. I don't see how because the road here is incredibly steep, should have been doing 15-20 mph max and the drop off and hill to the left and right are even steeper. The real story, which his dad knew all along was that they were speeding down the mountain. Luckily none of the 5 kids in there got hurt.

We were driving a Wrangler across the mountains there and were starting to come down off the trail, but then got trapped here because there is nowhere to turn around. Ended up waiting an hour for the wrecker to back up all the way up the mountain.

I could swear I just read in a post somewhere about using JB Weld to put a cup on your roof for entertainment purposes. I'm gonna have to try that here especially.

Bring it back!

I like the idea of having an oops thread.

Not sure if Tims thread was the only one going; so I resurrected this one.

This was from a camping trip in the Black Range outside of Silver City, NM during Labor Day in September.

Was supposed to be a decompression/beer drinking/Hatch chile over load camping trip. There was lots of chile and beer involved but after 25 hours of rain we were ready to get out.

This creek was a trickle when we went through it, our friends in their Honda Accord didn't even have any problems.
Long story short, it rained most of the night and by the next morning the creek was to deep to drive their car through, so we thought we would wait it out.
Well 16 hours later the creek was rippin through, whole trees floating down.

Sunday afternoon one camper said to his new found friend
'Hey we need more beer, why don't I take your truck into town and do a beer run.'
Truck owner says 'Sure, we both own Harley Davidsons, I can totally trust you.'
Five minutes later a guy runs through our camp soaking wet and asking if we have any come alongs or tow straps.

Well this is the result of allowing a new found friend to borrow your not yet paid off truck that can't quite drive through five feet of water that is ripping through the canyon.

It was impressive to watch the wrecker recover this truck, and the owner took it pretty well, though he wasn't to thrilled about having to do his electric journeyman work with his wifes Toyota Camry.

Yah, they were close but still had lots of Scotch.

Strange thing is the guy that put the truck in the creek didn't even drink...
before or after the event.

The passengers that were with him were still in the bed of the truck when my friend and I arrived at the creek bed after the driver came running by. The water was coming over the tailgate on the passenger side.

The teenage daughter didn't know how to swim and had lost her shoes trying to climb out of the cab to the bed. She was petrified, but totally compliant when my friend and I created a human chain to get them out.

The Scotch was then offered to us as a reward for helping them out!

Automotive ADHD is fun!
probably less "oops" and more n'er do well, but I always giggle when I see an outhouse down. Of course this is down in a wildlife refuge, which can't be good...
