Opinions on monstaliner color for my green 2.5 gen.

So somewhere in my Montero's past a PO (not the one I bought it from) tried to sand and repaint bumpers (note: over spray on headlight washer). It looks plenty ugly. Since I not very likely to swap bumpers anytime thought I'd coat the current silver areas with monstaliner. Down to either doing it in khaki/tan or grey. So any thoughts I'm ok with either thanks Josh

?Other considerations my front oem re-enforced skid will be painted hammered grey just like my sliders. Might paint the wheels at some point since they are pretty pitted.

I would keep with the grey monstaliner that way if it starts chipping it wont look so bad. For instance my bumpers and cladding were gold and I used black rustoleum bedliner, so if it starts chipping I have gold that will show through...and now I wish I would've used tan on mine. Granted it does look pretty sweet but I constantly think about having to re-do it...for a third time if it does start to come off.

My car is the same color and am curious as to how it comes out. I like how the hammered grey color looks on your sliders so thats my vote. Hope the owner of this gen2 doesn't mind me posting the pics, but think it will look similar to this oem color.

@TheMole, well the monstaliner won't be the same as the glassy finish of hammered. While the hammered rustolium finish can be applied to sliders or skid plates, getting a uniformed finish on all those curved sections on the bumper would be tough. I'm using the quarts versus spray cans since the same color from paint to spray paint does not match.

Ah gotcha. Just looked into Monstaliner and found out you can roll-on the application. Are you spraying or rolling?
Pretty good pics in the gallery on their website.

Intention was to roll it on, but have some tough spots to get to with a roller i.e. fog light holes, contours etc.

I would really just use high quality spray paint. The Bedliner stuff starts to look cheap when it fades and gets dirty.

Just prep with a scotch brite wheel and wipe with acetone.
