Opinions on the wheel well tool box

DeeZee sells a tool box that goes on the side of the bed, over the wheel well. It's about half-way down on this page.

Anyone used them before? By the looks of the photo, this might not work with my Tacoma because of the ARE shell, hard to tell for sure though.

I used to have one on my old 3/4 ton GMC. I installed it in 1994 (when I bought the truck)...it was still there when I sold it 10 years later. I loved it.

My only 2c is to get the aluminum, NOT the plastic. Every plastic "pork-chop" box I've seen has warped, leaked, and often the lock stopped working.

A friend here has one in his Tacoma. It fits just under the rail and works (fits & opens) when he has his topper on. His has a reversable lid, like your fridge.

Ditto on the plastic though. His is just a couple of years old and it's not the same shape it was in when new.
