We took a short drive yesterday to the NC mountains and spent the night in a state park to test out all the new equipment. Aside from the monsoon like rains that moved through overnight everything worked out well.

Our site and the truck loaded.

Cape Lookout

Truck is loaded with gear and fuel, fridge is stocked and the forecast looks good so we are headed off the grid for a few days to Cape Lookout, NC. Looking forward to exploring the island and spending some time in the sun and surf with the family.

Is your truck an auto? If so how do you feel about the 275s? Im considering going a little more moderate on my Tacoma then I did on the FJ (295s) to hopefully keep some oomph.

Also any rubbing with the tires?

I run the exact same tire and wheel setup as OP on my 17, but with the OME suspension. Although I have never driven a 3rd gen with factory size tires, I haven't noticed any negative impacts with the 275's other than slight fuel eco decrease. Mind you, I get way better fuel eco than I did with the 275's on my 2nd gen. I currently don't have any rubbing day to day. When offroad, I have some when I stuff the tire in the wheel well.
