So after being immersed in the Jeep world for 7+ years, I am completely starting over with this Toyota, and starting from the ground floor.

I'm glad I've found my way over here, but I'm struggling to figure out which other Toyota forums are worth my time. I don't hang out online enough to wade through every other Toy forum that's out there, because there are A LOT.

I've got a Tacoma, so I'm not looking for a Supra forum. I've spent a little time over on TTORA, but there are some real jerks over there, it's not a great place to be a Toyota newb.

Tell me- which other Toyota forums do you like/use or dislike/avoid and why?

Where are you living? There are also local forums that have a lot of info. Here in WA state I have nw-wheelers, WATTORA and a few others. It helps that a lot of the local guys are yota fans.

As for everyone's recommendations I agree about TTORA and Pirate. (check out Pirate's ********-chat section for some good laughs) I've been one them for years and have grown a thick skin. But the wealth of knowledge found in the FAQ's and other parts is simply very useful. You'll notice that there aren't many forums like ExPo out there in the wheeling world, but there are still some good people out on the tougher ones.

Welcome to Nevadafornia
I frequent here, Toyotanation, TTORA, and Tacomaworld

The Tacoma section on Toyotanation has slowed down considerably as of late but TTORA and Tacomaworld seem to be going strong. Lots of excellent info if you search on any of them, more hardcore stuff on TTORA.

Ultimateyota.com is a really good forum with some cool peeps

X2.

It's a lowkey spot with folks that have like mined interests. Stop on by and check it out. It's kind of one of those places that might not have the answer you're looking for but has the people that know how to find it.
A lot of UY members hang out here as well so you might already know some of us.

Ive checked out TTORA but don't go there much. Good luck.
Congrats on the taco!

TTORA and Tacomaworld have great information but I get the impression they are young and quick to rip on you when they can.

I look at it this way that TTORA and Tacomaworld are more interested in the looks and appearance of the Tacoma than the functionality of it. They want to fit a certain tire size the cheap way and screw the rest. Tire size is more important than everything else type of mentality I get from those 2 forums.

I have owned Toyota pickups for close to 20 years now from racing them down in Baja to racing an X-Runner on road courses so I get a little turned away from those sites from young punk kids that only care about tire size.

This site is the best so far!

That's about the exact opposite view I have of TTORA. Functionality has always seemed to me to be the number one priority on that forum. Most of the flaming has always been toward people that want appearance.

Start a thread about DB lifts over there and it will turn into mini-Pirate4x4 real quick.

i agree but TW has a lot of content. If you search long enough you will find what you want. It's young crowd so beware

TTORA sucks. Even if you search the content is horrible

I'm off the tacoma forums but for tundra's i go to

tundratalk.net
tundrasolutions.com

I'm around 40 years old and I have to disagree. I have found great info on DIYs to an indepth discussion and explanation of the electronic bells and whistles (ATRAC/LSD/ALSD) on the new tacomas from TW. There will always be those who are impressed with looks but to say that is all TW is about would be unfair.

TTORA has been very useful to me.
I found good info about changing my timing belt on my '01 Tacoma. If it wasn't directly posted on their forums I probably found good links from them. Found this link: http://www.toy4x4.net/timing_belt/index.htm which allowed me to do it myself. The Search function is key.

TacomaWorld is ok, but lots of kids on it. Most of the other forums mentioned I've been on just browsing for good info.

One of the best and most important Tacoma/4-Runner sites I found is http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/
Has all the factory service manuals, which was also huge while doing the timing belt swap.

So far, ExpeditionPortal is my favorite, since I'm not a kid any longer, could care less about bling on my truck and have a family that likes to camp and explore.
