Our new GSI Outdoor / Pelican base camp kitchen!

After years of fumbling about with cheap inferior camp kitchen products we decided to try our best at doing it right!

We've customized our own solution we think will work along with a few minor evolutions no doubt.

We started with the GSI Outdoor Pinnacle Camper as a self contained cook and tableware set for our family of four.

Big pot, little pot, fry pan, two lids with built in strainers, removable handle, four plates, four bowls and four insulated mugs with optional sippy lids. All about three pounds.

Then a .5L vacuum thermos for taking the joe on the road!
Spoons, spatulas, wisk and a pot scraper.

A set of four deep bowls for serving or when you need a bigger bowl.

and a set of six food containers which will fit perfectly into the fridge.

Two 18oz flasks, cutting board, shaker and two tumblers in a great case!

We also got the 11" Wok :chef:

I use the 9" GSI wok with my Trangia alcohol stove set. It happens to fit in windscreen/pot holder nicely (many pans don't). I don't use if for true high temperature wok cooking, but it is great for things like scrambled eggs and grits.

GSI has recently come out with several new coffee makers. One is a French Press, the other (using some of the same parts) is a drip maker (30 and 50oz). The drip maker has a flexible rubber filter holder that stuffs inside the bottle, and works with both #2 and #4 filters, as well as its own cloth one.

Hey I didn't know GSI made a portable mini bar set! Very nice set up for the fam Brian. We have the GSI Dualist for our backpacking adventures and I totally love it!

GSI puts out some consistently good products at reasonable prices. I have a fry pan from GSI that I like just as much as my Caphalon gear at home.

I dig the Cocktail bar for two. Wait until Annie sees that!

It is now discontinued, I just happen to know a guy who knows a guy who had one in back inventory. :)

Very cool. Do the insulated mugs nest into each other? One can hope can't they?

The insulated mugs nest into the bowls and then the four bowls nest into the small pot which nests into the large pot capped off with the two lids and the pan. It all fits into the carry bag witch doubles as a wash sink.

Where did you pick yours up? I saw the set at REI the other night for about $100 and thought it looked like a nice cook kit.

I'm somewhat bummed. I had to send mine back as several of the plastic pieces were already broken on delivery.

SAC was cool though, and sent me a return shipping label, credited my card, and that was that!

Found this thread searching for the small GSI table. How has this adventure bar held up? Unfortunately they don't make it anymore. I think I am gonna pick up the GSI Outdoor Bugaboo Camper Cookset. Checked it out at REI tonight and was impressed. My GF and I are tired of taking all our stuff from the apartment down to the truck for each trip. This set seems much smaller and lighter so it wont be such a task.
