Out with the old, in with the new...F-150.

I snapped a couple pictures of the winch tray when I got home today. It’s all 1/4” steel and mounts to the frame where the tow hooks were. At $195 it’s a really economical way to put a winch on a 3.3 or 5.0 truck.

Well, got rid of the f150. At 72k miles I had the motor opened up twice, front and rear suspension replaced, electrical issues like crazy. I traded it on a 19 Ram 1500 with the hemi and 3.92. Almost 1800 lbs payload, leveled using 5100s and new UCAs, power steps, bakflip (will be selling) etc…

Curious - What electrical issues did you have? I have a 2019 XLT with 23k miles on the clock with the warranty about to expire and am considering getting the extended factory warranty. I was about to do the power train only warranty when I saw your post come through, so now I am considering the full ("premium") one!

I had the wiper controls replaced twice. (Wipers wouldn’t shut off) and the head unit would freeze then get stuck in nav and wouldn’t turn off with the truck

The Ram looks like a nice truck. Hope it's better than the Ford for you. Any more plans for it?

I think I’m going to swap the front struts to 6112s and get rid of the 20s and recon grapplers for a set of 18s and all terrains

Guess I'm late suggesting #10 ga. wire for those lights. I just picked up a '20 F-150, 5.0, XL and was following your lead. Hope mine doesn't have the issues you had. The dealer had a page full of repairs done to mine before I got it. Never had a RAM, had the older square body Dokota 4x4 with the 318, it was a great little truck.

I'll be looking for one of those big consoles, mine has buckets with the middle fold down seat without storage.

Nice! I had a 5.0 and it was solid for almost 200k. I think I got a lemon 3.5 and then all the electric crap that comes on them now. But went and rode SR 105 in western NC this weekend and caught a pretty good picture at sunset.

Did you two with your EcoBoost? If so, I'm interested in hearing how the Hemi w/ 8 spd & 3:92's compares to a EcoBoost w/ 10 spd.

I did tow with the eco. I have a 22 foot center console. It towed great with the ford, haven’t pulled with the Ram yet

I’ve heard the rams are more stable towing than the aluminum f150’s.
That’s the biggest complaint I have with my little ranger, plenty of power but gets blown around even when not towing.

Good luck with your new truck, congrats! I have 73k on my 2016 f150 ecoboost, and haven't had any problems with the engine at all. I just changed the spark plugs/boots, and its still running like a sewing machine!
