I saw that these wheels are now available in the U.S.. There isn't much on thier website. What are the pros and cons of these wheels? Are they worth the price which I can't find on thier site? I am interested in useing these on a Tacoma.

Thanks
Josh

Hi Josh,

I have them installed on my Tacoma. They are used in competition, and are tough, which is what sold me...

Oh, and I like the charcoal black finish.

These do look cool and are available in 6x139mm lug spacing for my truck. But maybe I'm just missing it, anyone know what is the offset or backspace? Not sure about the $200 a piece, is that expensive for wheels like this? Never bought a new set of wheels and just trying to get a feeling for how they compare.

When you look at other similar wheels, they are actually a little less expensive.

I am partial to the "Made in Australia" part.

Maybe one of our Aussie members will chime in.

I actually have been contemplating these for my 08 Tacoma build as well.. Spoke with Terry at VTO Performance in Prescott Valley. Nice guy, very professional and willing to answer questions. Any chance of seeing a photo of them mounted on the Expeditions West truck??

I've liked them since I first saw them on that red 80 series in the journal.

As far as pricing goes...I think they are very reasonable. They are about half of what I paid for the polished Walker Evans that I had on the Unlimited. And they're not on every other rig you see. That's worth a lot to me.
Now if I can just figure out what to do with the seven 70 series steel wheels that were delivered during the Expo Trophy that are still in there box???

These X's are on the list for sure.

Thanks for the pictures Scott. They look great! Did you notice any difference on the road. I have had some expierences with 'competition' wheels that seriously changed the on road ride for the worse. Love the charcol on white and as someone else said they aren't like every other wheel you see on the road... yet.

After seeing these mounted on the Expeditions West rig I had one in a 16x8 shipped out for a test fit on the 08 Tacoma. Unfortunately it does not clear the caliper. This is a common issue for the newer generation of these trucks. It is too bad- this is a great looking wheel, lightweight and strong. I guess the stocker's will stay for a bit longer while the rest of the build continues...

I think $200 per wheel is more than fair. The Weld wheels on my CJ were $375 with bead locks, $250 without. I have seen a lot of the TX wheels in Australia used in racing, and never a failure.

I have been writing back and forth with the local supplier because I was looking for 16 inch wheels to fit the early Jeep CJ-5, which uses 5 on 5.5 pattern. Turns out they do have access to these for the same price as the others in the same fitment range, if you don't mind waiting for them to be shipped from Oz. In the 16 inch, 5 on 5.5 pattern, two back space choices are available: 3.9 inches and 4.2 inches, with a 7 inch rim. I figure that with these wheels, I won't need to worry about wheel failure.

So, if you are interested in the wheel but don't find your size listed in the web page, give them a call or send an e-mail and inquire. The size you want may be available.
