Overland Journal Launches New Website

Thanks to the hard work of the Overland Journal Team, principally Stephanie, Jacob and Jeremy, we have launched a new design for our website. This is the first completely new site since our launch in late 2006.

I look forward to any feedback or corrections. The team will be up late tonight beta testing.

Wow, very nice. You guys did a great job on the new deign. Very clean and elegant looking.

I haven't been all over it yet but I did notice on the front page, the three boxes beneath the main photo are not evenly spaced. Could be my browser, or by design.

Congratulations on the continued success of a great publication!

I like it. Good organization, useful content, fantastic photography. Congratulations on the update and relaunch. Super job.

(I liked the old one a lot, too!)

Thinking more about your site, I don't visit it very often, but the few times I have, it's been in hope of seaching for a past article. I have every issue of OJ, but a searchable, topical index of articles, news, and products, by issue date/volume would be very helpful.

+1

I have looked at the old site several times looking for a master index for Overland Journal, would come in very handy.

Looks very nice. The lack of symmetry in the three white boxes at the bottom of the home page is... not quite annoying... but now that I know it's there I notice it every time.

Other issues/total personal opinions:
http://www.overlandjournal.com/journal/ shows seven clickable OJ cover icons in one tall column, all of which link to "http://www.overlandjournal.com/journal/current_issue"; meanwhile, the two columns to the right are a single icon each - the first column's extra covers seem superfluous.
Interestingly, this only happened the first time I accessed - Minutes later it was fine, so it may have been an isolated incident.

The "store" link takes you directly to the "back issues" category within the store. It took me three trips to realize there were other categories within the store.

"Blog" opens up in a new window. I assume this was intentional, but you never know.....

I really like the new format. Very elegant and readable. I am using the latest stable build of Firefox on a MacBook (1280x800) with Snow Leopard.
