Work is underway with the transfer case swap and slip yoke eliminator kit.

Now that it's all in I just have to wait for the new driveshaft and hope I can move on with other projects and leave the vibrations behind.

After wasting 3 weeks trying to get the new driveshaft built locally I ordered one from Tom Woods in Utah. The local guys just kept delaying and were not getting the job done.

I ordered from Sean at Tom Woods on Monday morning, the driveshaft was built and shipped Tuesday and I received it yesterday. I was really happy with the level of service I received and it ended up being cheaper than the local guys.

First drive last night. It's 100 times smoother and all the clunking and buzzing is now gone. There is still a slight vibration over 65mph but it could be related to the alignment or tire balance. Both of which I'll look into today or tomorrow.

First off, incredible build! Excellent attention to the details. I love those AEV Salta man. Been looking at them myself recently. Are you happy with them?

Love them so far. No issues with balancing. Thank you for positive comments. Much appreciated.

Is that the Iron Rock Slip Yoke kit? Looking at going that route myself.

Thanks and great build.

Yes it is. Install was straight forward and looks like it's well made. Time will tell if it's solid.

Got around to installing the shift selector yesterday and my Clayton front springs I've had sitting for a little while. No more OME and spacers.

I sold my WJ not too long ago but if I had gone through with the build it would have been just the way are doing yours so it's cool to watch you build yours.

Thanks

Got a little dirty on what was supposed to be a few hour run. Turned into a day run really fast with the wet and muddy conditions.

Jeep did well. I'm really amazed how well the tires did in these pretty bad conditions. I aired down to 15 psi and had no issues throughout the day.

Looking good as always. I'm so jealous of your day run, looks beautiful and I miss mud :(

Thanks Little Foot

I scored a Warn M8000 from a friend of a friend that wasn't using it anymore since he sold his JK. Managed to get it installed this morning. I'm most likely going to upgrade to synthetic rope and poly rollers at some point but this will do for now.

And regarding the gearing: on mine (Ford Explorer- I know totally different engine/trans/power/weight.....) I have 4.56 gears and 33s. It works out to be about the same overall gearing as an Explorer with stock size tires and the BIG factory gear ratio of 4.10. I went from 3.55 to 4.56. Initially with the 30" tires, it would leap across an intersection but 70 mph was about the top speed due to resonance. Now with the 33s it's pretty well suited all around. Although that mountain highway driving with all the weight I've added requires some full throttle to maintain the speed limit- and sometimes I lose that battle.
