Perentie 6x6 Build

Hi Mick
absolutely love it. Pluses are they are very capable off road and, as your not sitting over the front axle, more comfortable then a cab over. The other big advantage for us is the low access to the cab and the initial buy price.

Downside is the noise which I'm slowly reducing and motorway speed (or lack there of)

We are still testing and fixing my build mistakes prior to heading off around Australia but to date have enjoyed some great trips to Fraser Island and high country NSW.

thanks
Bob

So just fitted the aircon. Its a fugitsu 2.5kW inverter split system which runs off the battery via the victron mutiplus inverter.
the outside unit is rubber mounted on a slide out so its tucked out of the way when driving and is pulled out approx 5" when we want to run it.

On start up it slowly ramps up to 40a (@12V) for 3 minutes and than down and running at 12a when set to cooling @21 degrees C. Will need to wait for some hot weather to test average draw over an hour. Solar will keep up with the AC during the day and the plan is once the sun is down AC goes off and 12v Sirocco fan goes on
Unit is nice and quiet, just need to make some cover plates for the internal piping and a dust cover (canvas) for the outside unit.
