Great chair - recently trail tested it in Utah. Compact designs stows away well. Solid construction and well balanced.
Very impressed - don't know how it compares to its more expensive brethren - but I would certainly recommend the product and Sierra Expeditions

If Pico's are $125-ish and these are merely $42 with a similar telescoping design . . . what's the $80 difference?

My exact question...

Are there any dimension differences? Not sure I can get a hold of one of these before the weekend camping trip to try it out, but that price is awesome!

Difference is primarily materials and a few small design impreovments). I own two Xpress Loungers and a Pico. The Pico frame has lots of aluminum and is a tad wider deployed. The joints are designed and use resin/composite (which are typicall a bit heavy) for the joints. The Pico seems to support my lower back a tad bit better. The Xpress lounger frame is steel (including most of the joints). I like them just fine and keep one in my rig now. The Lounger does pack small, but a slightly different shape than the Pico. Both are about the same overall weight.
Stored/Closed dimensions
Pico 20'' x 12'' x 3.75''
Xpress Lounger:: 17.4'' x 15.9'' x 2.4''

Both of my Xpress Lounger's like to rattle, so I have to pack it so I don't hear it. The Pico does come in a bag (which I don't care for), but it doesn't rattle at all when closed/stored - at least not yet.

Like others, I bought my Xpress Loungers on sale, but I think they are a very good value. Glad SE picked them up and offer them in both gray and green colors.

They do not fold down as compact and weigh a tad bit more. The Pico's have an integrated cover, where these do not. But yeah, I still wonder the same too (I think it would be the design costs).

For reference:
Pico folded dimensions: 20'' x 12" x 3.75''
Xpress Folded Dimensions: 17.4'' x 15.9'' x 2.4''

Yup I have Gray ones in stock at the moment as posted above.

Will they hold a 250lbs guy like me?

Yeah, the weight limit on them is also 250lbs, like the Pico, however I am sure that we have overloaded the Pico's time and time again, with people sitting on laps, and such... and never had a problem. These chairs seem to have a more sturdy telescoping system, and I thought for sure while we were testing them that they would have a higher weight limit than 250#.

Cool! I am going to have to try and find the time to get one from you before the weekend but I am not sure it is going to happen. I am pretty sure I can before Sedonafest though... Thanks Wil!

I was looking at these at REI and was seriously wondering about them.
I have noticed that my PICO's need a little lube now & then to keep smooth and I was wondering if these would be better.
I guess if the PICO's ever fail then I know what to try next.

I have one of these - in fact I brought it with me to Afghanistan, and currently use it on a daily basis - but I've been thinking all this time that I had a Pico, and got it on killer sale at REI!

...Oh well - Pico or not - I'm very impressed with this chair. One of the little snaps broke off the first day I had it, but I have used this chair every single day for 2 months, in a very crappy environment, and it's holding up great.

This is the best chair I've ever had BY FAR. I'll definitely be buying 2 or 3 more of these when I get back to the states!

Over the years I have used and or broken most varieties of inexpensive camp chairs. I've never had the luxury to spend 125.00 like the Pico, on something that would eventually get broken or wouldn't work as advertised. I've never been real happy with most camp chairs regardless of price. They have always been designed by someone who evidently never used their own design.

That being said, I came up with a couple of these chairs a couple months ago. Bought them on sale somewhere else.

Best chair I've ever used. I've broken and fixed 1 snap. Most comfortable chair I've sat in period. The mesh seats are great too, much cooler in hot weather than the solid ripstop seats. A little heavy if you are carrying it around all day say at a festival but in the vehicle its great.

Wil, I'll probably have to purchase up a couple of these next week. I think 2 more will do me.
