The busy season at my work is winding down, Mrs Cabrito was out of town, and I had a whole two day weekend. Quick ride out to Los Padres National Forest with my good friend Sean for some dispersed camping.
It was so nice being out on the big bike for a change.

Hardly anyone out here, and the best spots next to the creek were taken or didn't have any shade. Eventually we found a great spot for the night.

Hard to tell, but the hills were carpeted in yellow.
Riding through Hunter Liggett is cool.

This past weekend I decided to reconnoiter camp spots for next weekend using the van and the 300
I wanted to make sure the roads were suitable for the van
While scouting for a spot we camped at over ten years ago I came across a familiar landmark.
Eventually I found this sweet spot with no other campers around.
While I was there for one night I managed three rides including the initial scouting for a spot.
Bowman Lake
The road out to the Bowman campgrounds is nice an rocky.
I can't believe I've done this on my KTM 1090 and my 990 but I have and it's not that bad. This is FJ Cruiser country for sure and not someplace I'm taking my van.
Enjoyed a nice sunset from the site
The ability to take a shower on before hitting the road is a nice bonus
Not too bad for a quick overnight.

So far my riding has all been on pavement so not really worth posting any pics.
Between work and camping, I haven't had time to get off pavement. It's about a 3 hour ride for me to get anywhere decent to ride off road.
