"special Tests" LOL.. @nickw good stuff!
literally special tests which are expert level trails that you can decide to do or not!:

"but it takes on 327 miles of rugged trail in the standard route, plus an additional ~223 miles of mostly advanced special test trails as options"

....and they are no joke, exposure, technical and very very remote, dump your bike and you are SOL.

Been commuting on the big bike a bit. Today was a nice easy ride back and forth across the city due to the day before thanksgiving.

Since we got off early I took the scenic route and got a shot of the Golden Gate Bridge

Was just watching the movie An Eye for An Eye (Chuck Norris) and on of the houses in the movie is right near there, I had to look it up since I recognized it and it's on Sea Cliff Ave. which looks to be where you are, or close to it. Nice pic.

Went on a ride to a beach town that has a biker bar. I was the odd guy out on an ADV bike as it was mostly Harley's.

Can barely make out my bike in the back. That's me on the phone calling the police to let them know I lost my licence plate on the way...

Curious if there was any major difference in the trip experience between the 300 and the 500 riders? I ask because I'm currently on a CRF250 and I've been eyeing the 500X for bit more slab comfort but I would hate to lose the nimbleness of the 250.
Our smallest rider was on the 300. When convoy passing, or the high elevation climbs, or against a big head wind. She spent a lot of time rapped out. I was following her ridding sweep. And noticed it, as did she. For almost our entire trip our motos also had our packs strapped to them. So they were loaded. It did struggle on parts.

As far as where it would physically fit, or go? She took it everywhere we took the 500’s, and vice versa.

I have never been a fan of the big moto’s like the 1200GS’s. I was a part of a motorcycle mounted remote medical team, and personally, really like the 650-800 range. Some variables though, rider experience, luggage, weight, where you’re taking it. Etc
