I hope the last 1% is adding taillights to that hitch carrier. The motorcycle almost entirely blocks your tail lights.

Getting rear ended will shorten your trip quick!!

Simple to just plug them into the trailer hitch wiring!

Might also note that your license plate is not blocked which gives cops a free pass to stop you anytime they want.

Good call, I went and checked the lights, there not blocked. However the license plate is blocked. I looked at several pix online of other vans with bikes on the back and most of theirs were blocked as well. Has anyone had an issue with this? Anyone know what the law reads? I would think if moved, it would also have to be "lighted"?? Do they really expect this to be done??

You could grab a set of magnetic LED lights from any tractor/trailer supply store. It's direct plug and play in any 4 or 9 pin trailer harness.

"Most" cops "probably" won't bother. But then again, I certainly wouldn't give them any "free" reason to stop you. Especially if you ever have a couple of beers/wine and are living in the van.

As stated above/below, a simple set of trailer lights plugged into the hitch plug cures any lighting concerns.(any obstruction might be illegal vs fully blocked) Moving the plate may or may not be legal in some states, but I'd bet having it blocked is illegal in all of them. Moving it to the hitch carrier is probably the right approach and if nothing else it shows a willingness to try to do the right thing.
