How wide is the van with the plastic panels removed?
Is the bed 6 feet long sideways?

Thanks

Dan

The limiting factor was the seat belts. Between them was a little over 68". That is how wide I made the platform so it can fold. The mattress is 73" long so I would say 74-75" wide body to body. I am 6'-5" and even though I can't stretch out, it is comfortable.

Sir Vana

Hi all! Been lurking here off and on for a while now, thought I'd introduce Sir Vana that I've been playing around with for the last year or so. Started as a stock 2006 GMC Savanna. I hope to start working on some interior mods this year.

Nice van! Tell us a little bit about the mod list so far... the lift, bumpers etc... looks like you have a hi lift stashed in the rear bumper?

Dig those bumpers and the 'awning' you gained with the RTT placement. Cool!

So I was totally unaware that the Chevy vans had passenger doors on both sides. Are they all like that? What year did that start? And here I thought I knew it all. So much more useful, obviously.

It was an option, they don't all have them. I'd love to have another door on the driver side of my van. I'd rather have it on the driver side than passenger if I could only have one.

New to this site.

I have been working on this Shorty 1983 Trik Edition 4x4 Chevy PathFinder for the past couple of months. I have the 1983 crate 350 Chevy edelbrock 4 barrel with 400 turbo trans finally working nicely ( well, getting about 8 miles to the gallon down hill with a back draft ). Nice power and sweet rumble. The transfer case is also working well and everything is feeling strong. Really would like some info on the replacement of bushings. Trying to keep her as original as possible. Definitely not the smoothest rider.

Started on the body work removing rust, patching, welding ect.. Still have a bit to do. I am not a body work guy by any means but, thought I would get the rough stuff done than let some body guy refine and finish her up.

I have great plans for the exterior and interior and hoping to get cracking at it in the next week or so.DSC_0887.jpg
