We just wrapped our morning shoot with Rev’It and I got my assistant to drive my van out of Cape Kiwanda so I could take a photo while we still had good light. The van also has a staring role in the video story we were filming so I’ll post that once it’s public.

I’m building bumpers this week, then hopefully a roof rack although that roof won’t make it easy...

Here's something you don't see, um, ever. How about a small town 1990 7.3L IDI diesel ambulance converted into a SWAT van with a super cool driver's side suicide door. Came complete with a mouse for a copilot and electrically operated rifle/shotgun racks. I just spent a lot of time buffing and wet sanding all the stickers, letters, paint etc to get back to basic black. I added some new 235/85/16 ATS, mechanical stuff is next. The inter is all wood grain and chrome, would make a super cool one of a kind camper van.View attachment 456010View attachment 456011View attachment 456012 is next...
Can't wait to watch this build!

Had a little free time, added cc880 springs, Curt front hitch with winch mount and a Smitty XRC 9500 to the Army Van. I don't like how low it is, might change it all later but its there for now while I decide how much higher I can go before all hope of an alignment is lost, lol...View attachment 453947

I'm in the same position with a Drawtite front receiver mounted winch, but I've got a E-150 and won't be in position to upgrade the suspension to lift the front and rear for a while. I had hoped to have a front receiver poke out the hole in the bumper, but unfortunately that would hit the AC condenser, so don't want to risk that - may see about making the receiver tube go strait out instead of hanging below. I'd be interested in what you come up with.IMG_0131.JPG

I may actually modify the winch mount rather than the hitch by raising it up 6-8 inches putting the bottom of the winch about level with the top of the bumper...

With the new front springs and some used 265/75/16 BFG ATK0s Big Rhonda is now nearly 10 ft tall at the hatch and 19 inches of clearance under the rockers! It is a very long drop to the ground from the driver's seat and the attitude change is (much like Rhonda) huge. After paint/body, rims/tires Ill take a picture with someone standing next to her for comparison, absolutely towers over everything in a parking lot. Its funny how a few mods change everything, from old wheelchair van to huge back country camper, this thing gets thumbs up and comments everywhere you go. Durango is a very outdoor oriented community and anything that gets the family into the woods is highly prized.

Hey all,
I'm new here, ended up owning this crazy class b. It's a factory Quigley conversion, 33k miles, all documentation from when it was new is there. I don't think it's going to work well for me and I'll probably end up selling it but thought y'all might like it.
That rig is super cool, rare to see a Dodge chassis

Managed to buy another 7.3L Powerstroke type III ambo, very nice rig, this one has the most interesting body I have seen yet, super overbuilt with tons of storage. Has a compartment on the left rear corner that's so big I could fit 2 of me (6ft235lb) inside. My 6 yr old daughter said that's where you put the crazy people... smart kidATT00001 (3).jpg

RCOOOE, looks nice. That Knight Drive channels looks good as well.
Did you paint the roof of the van?

Yeah, it's in the upcoming video. I did a white elastomeric solar reflective paint. Most of it won't be visible once the rack is in place, but we are relocating out west and I just wanted all the solar heat rejection I could get.

Here's one with the bunk house enclosed trailer hooked up..3rd and longest tow with the van..20 miles round trip...

I have 360 lighting on both..trailer lights run off breakaway battery and a wireless $16 12volt relay...

Tows great..needs a brake controller.
