Lotsa interesting occupations and pics! Some of ya have some scary-*** occupations!
but I wanted to give luis some kudos for what he does "behind the scenes"...'cus I doubt he gets to see the final results of his work or hear from those who benefitted from it very often.
I doubt he made my "toofies"...but he made someone else's who is feeling AS GOOD as I am right now about going through all of the CRAP I went through to get to this point. holy s*it..I've never had such PAIN!!!! (or such a SMILE)
luis,
As the recipient of a 4 teeth bridge (23, 24, 25, 26, I believe..the ones between the lower canines) placed on 2 implant studs just last week I can attest to the importance of the work you do. I broke a tooth off in Nov 2004 and found that I had little jawbone in that area to keep the remainder of my teeth in place..something that if left unattended would result in the "domino" effect. As a result, those 4 teeth were removed. Talk about a BAD day...and a life-changing event in many ways...but little did I know what a EXPEDITION I was about to embark upon!
After the extraction/pocket reduction surgery I had 6 months of recoup where I lost 40 POUNDS...then I went thorugh a full mouth of braces for 26 months @ 48-49 years old...all with no front teeth and lookin like warmed-over death! Following all of that fun I had 3 surgeries to prep for the implants...including 3 bone graphs...the one in front being the largest made for that application. (I had a huge hole in my face after the 4 tooth extract!)
6 more months of waiting...in which I got the braces off...and after a total of
38 months...I'm now sporting a lab-created titanium bridge with some porcelain pearlies and wow...smiling again is AWESOME! (eating isn't bad either!)
keep up the good work, luis! Yer an unsung hero in my world...
Pat
(and yes, I need a trim..LOL)
