"Piglet" My new 80 (LX 450)

I have been wanting an 80 for a looooong time. I decided to look at Craigslist last sunday night just to see what was going on. I found this LX450 for a great price. Called the guy, figured it was a good candidate. Listed my gas Dodge 2500. It sold on tuesday... I flew about 500 miles up north in BC and checked out the LX. It turns out the sellers older brother is from the same town I lived in for years, and knows my old house-mates and a bunch of my old friends. Long story short, I bought it!

It is a 96 with 215k on the clock, stock soccer mom rig until last year. Since then it has had OME heavys, all new brakes including calipers, custom front and rear bumpers, (older bro is a fabricator/TLC owner), new 285 75 R16 Nitto ATs, no lockers though. Got it for $4400.

I will get her cleaned up and do a once over in the coming weeks. Future plans will be ARB in the rear, 315 KM2s and maybe an ARB front bar down the road.

By the way, what's all that white stuff in the photos? We don't see
that sort of thing in Las Vegas.

The white stuff is i believe called "shno"? I vaguely remember it from years when I was either (a) Too young to make a decision on locale, (b) Too young to realize I COULD make a decision on locale, or (c) Like this year, too poor to spend the winter in warm and sunny places like I did for 5 months last year... Wonder where all my cash went???:elkgrin:

Aside from being cold, the white stuff does make donuts really easy! We only see it about twice a year where I live now, and only an inch or two for a day or two. The photos were taken on the drive home.

Congrats! I just got my LX450 in Vancouver BC as well. Its a Canadian truck tho so had the factory lockers. There are some fantastic deals out there right now if you are looking and fast.

Its silver with slightly darker lower panels, kind of like yours but not. Its got 250kms on it, no pictures yet as its in the shop getting the body work done at the moment. Have only driven it about 100kms total so far, wanted it all cleaned up and base lined before I start driving it regularly. Its all stock too so nothing fancy yet.

Plans are 4x4lab rear bumper, Cruisin off road sliders, ARB front, 285's.....or 315 duratrac's, OME 2.5 lift and drawers in the rear.

The front or rear? They were custom made by the po's older brother. I can take more pics. Wade, who made them will do custom work...

No need to apologize... I will take a pic or two of it tomorrow. It was a really quick build and isn't the most refined, but the shape is great. He has another one similar on his younger bros truck with winch mount and integral lights. It is pretty slick!

Thanks Kurt! As I said before, I can't believe I waited this long to get an 80! I am going to take the vin into the Lexus dealer here, and see if they can print up a history on it. I would love to know about a head gasket change etc.
