Pinedale, WY: Gateway to God's Country

Moody

Needs to get out more
Hilary's Uncle lives on a small ranch in Pinedale, WY. After Hilary hearing about how much I fell in love with Wyoming on my previous trip, we decided to go spend one last week up in WY before the school year started again. Brett took us out to a lake which we had to ourselves for nearly the entire day. We met up with some great friends the Law's. I will let the photos tell the story...but let me tell you-it was pretty much the business.

It rains up there...heavily on occasion:

Miss this place ALOT...

I used to go elk hunting in the mountains east of Pinedale. Outfitter went out of business. Thanks for the pics, takes me back...

Your nice photos, an interesting perspective, including history and 'sites' in many of your threads, and just the overall tone and apparent fun of your trips makes them appealing to me through my computer screen. Enjoyable 'family' trips and adventures. Love it when you have time to post.

Sometimes I call it not Gods country but the Devils country! The rain, sleet, hail, snow, bugs, wind & ect is why! I have seen the temp drop nearly 50 degrees in 15 minutes down there and go from sunshine to snow in the same amount of time! Not that it doesn't happen up here in JH too it just seems more dramtic and or drastic down around the Winds.

Keep those secret spots secrets though....some of us up here in Disneyland like to escape the tourists from time to time! ;)

Just got back from the Pinedale area today, truly is Gods Country. Went to Green River Lakes yesterday, not 1 other person there. Went to New Fork Lake the day before, not a soul there. Fished on the Green River for 3 days and never saw another fisherman...There was snow on the Mountain Tops and the quakies still had a few leaves. Absolutely beautiful!

I sometimes wondered if people checked these out anymore...

Heck yeah! Check them out read, re-read. I may not offer a reply to every cool thread but I read just about every trip report. Yours are always quite enjoyable. Thanks for the vicarious living!

Yeah Moody, what Jim said. I always take a look at your posts for they never fail to disappoint. Agreed - that is beautiful inspiring territory there in Wyoming.
