Hello,

I need a quality point and shoot camera for my wife ....

Right now we have an Olympus Stylus 750 .. it takes good pics..BUT .. when you use it outside the LCD screen shows up black and you cannot
tell if you are lined up for the shot .... only after you go inside where there
is no natural light can you see the LCD screen and see if you took a good pic ..

Would like a camera that you can use outside in the natural light ...

Any and all recommendations welcomed ...

Best regards,

Mike

Canon S110. The "Old" version is a S100. Mighty fine very good P&S. Excellent quality. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

The Stylus 750 was introduced in summer, 2006. Pocket cameras have come a long way since then. Most models would at least partially address the LCD visibility problem you describe. Are you happy with a 5X zoom? Are you looking for a pocket size camera, or would one that's a little larger be acceptable?

If you can afford $650, the new Sony RX100 has image quality beyond any similar size camera today. The Canon S110 mentioned above is very good, too. Both have a lens with about a 4X zoom.

Haven is right on the cameras coming a long way since 2006. I am a nikon guy so the P7100 is the go to for us. I generally carry my DSLR but the wife always has the P7100 on her.
