Took the XVenture out for a few days in the rough canyon deserts of central New Mexico. I was very impressed how this trailer towed. Crazy stuff too... things to make the Power Wagon almost struggle to get over, this trailer just took it and asked for more. Toughest trailer out their.

Where'd you go in New Mexico? I am in ABQ and always am looking for places to explore.

Here is a fairly recent pic of our Jumping jack at the Wedge. What a view! The trailer tows very well and is a great 2.5 season tent trailer, which is why we are getting a teardrop. We camp too often to let high winds, sleet, snow, sub zero temps and the like get in our way of enjoyment.

Quebradas area SE of Socorro. San Lorenzo Canyon NW or Socorro. San Mateo Mtns SW or Socorro. Also hit highway 60 west, once you hit the VLA turn south.... travel
On that road into adventure. Good stuff.

Here's a photo of my trail in "basecamp mode" at the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Overland Festival.

This was one of the major motivators for going with a trailer. The ability to make camp and then run off with the Jeep. Going to be making some refinements to it this winter, but the overall "keep it super simple" design will stay the same.

02 Chalet Arrowhead w/lift and 29" tires hard sided pop-up

Greetings,

This is our 2002 Chalet Arrowhead hard sided pop-up camper. It may not be as flexy on a trail as a 4x4 specific trailer, does not have all the luxuries a travel trailer does, however it has been on every 4x4 trail our K1500 can navigate and sleeps a family of 5 on 4-5 week vacations every year. I added a an over under axle conversion and put 29"x9" tires on it to improve on highway and off road trail ride.

Hell's Backbone bridge, we also did the entire Burr Trail this trip.

Three years, 41 states, 4 Canadian provinces, 2 countries and 25,000+ miles later I can't complain about the 15 seconds set-up, and off-road capability, ease of towing and cool factor of this rare trailer.

These are neat trailers. I had a Sportliner (smaller version of a Aliner on a full size frame like yours with a "deck" out the back which would hold a ATV or two small dirt bikes, which we did). I'm impressed with how well yours is holding up on the trails your going on. Wonder if newer ones would hold up as well. To paraphrase a cliché, best camper for you is the one you own!
