Hello, pretty new here, though I've been lurking awhile. I have, like others who's post I have read, have moved away from "wheelin" and become more intersted in exploring. I also use my Jeeps for hunting and fishing too.
Thought I would post a couple of photos of my beloved LJ and its new stablemate, a JK Unlimited. Love the JK, but my son now joins me hunting, and my daughter and son and occasionally my wife join me fishing, plus a second dog... well, the LJ has just become too small, the moreso when we go camping or exploring as a family.
The JK is a treat to myself, and designed to do what it needs to do exploring, but also to run the highways to and from my hunting clubs quickly and easily, since they are a couple of hours away, and I hunt alot. Plus the redneck in me couldn't resist the big tires!
My beloved LJ this July 4th, with about 3.5" of lift, OME springs and shocks, Teraflex 3/4" spacers to get some height back after the rack, bumpers, winch, riding on 33x 10.5 BGF M/T KO's:
And a later trip:
My new JK which is in a trailer being delivered by AEV, expected to arrive tomorrow or Thursday latest, with a 5.7L Hemi, 4.5" of lift, 37x 12.5 BFG A/T's (for the highway driving) and some other details. Photos from yesterday, courtesey of AEV:
Can't wait to play with the JK. Looking for auxiliary gas tank options to extend range without fuel cans, though a similar AEV JK averages 15mpg, which is as good as my LJ. And the JK's have the larger tank.
