I SPY front leaf springs, cool rig, nice work with the waggy axles and the front leaf swap!!!

Bingo. People give me funny looks when they see leafs on the front... Actually people look at me like I am some kinda fool. But the reality is that I spent a bunch of money on Axles - Completely rebuilt D44's front and rear with Disk brakes all the way around, hy-steer, 5.13's, ARB's in both... I was financially pretty tapped out after tires, wheels, axles, steering and rear suspension. I didn't really have the money, or more importantly the skill and time to do custom link suspension in the front.

And really, 90% of solid axle Toyota's have front leafs and they have been wheeling the hardest trails for years... Not to say that I wouldn't go back to a link suspension given the time and money, but I have no regrets about the direction I took. At the end of the day, I can wheel the hardest trails in Northern California - so what more do I need?

And to keep this thread back on topic, heres how this poor jeep started out life - as a 1990 Limited:

Kinda funny how things come full circle... After abusing it, now I am trying to get it closer to it's original state...

This pix seems like a Treadlightly issue...

From the background Id say your in a area your supposed to be in

I don't think so... It's a lot where a construction project was supposed to be done years ago, but was canceled. I'm not exactly sure of the legality, but I see people there all the time, and there are no signs posted saying not to be.

Maybe my understanding of "tread lightly" isn't correct, but I thought of it as not hurting nature unnecessarily? Whatever nature was once here was already mowed down by the construction crews...

Awesome Flex! Any specs on the coilover/suspension you have under that one?

Thanks... Teraflex Pro LCG suspension system, 16" Sway Away remote reservoir coilovers (250/350) in the front, 4" coils+shocks in the rear, wheelbase stretched to ~110", 40" MTRs. It is a great setup but I am thinking of switching to 14" coilovers and 37" MTRs.

... and there are no signs posted saying not to be...

Not to derail this thread further but a cop explained this to me years ago when I used the excuse above. "So is it ok for someone to drive through your front yard because you don't have signs posted? Is it your land? Do you own it? Do you have the land owners phone number and their ok to be there? Then don't be."

Obviously I once wheeled the illegal spots, I almost paid for it big time and learned my lesson. This is my passing on of that lesson.

Ah, good point. I guess I'll stick to the trails (we have some nice ones nearby).
