i cant say that i agree with his approach to most builds, but he does have some skills in the shop and i wouldnt mind meeting him either. lucky you Sir. and beautiful jeep as well!
I built this KJ Liberty "just because", and I loved how it turned out. I wanted to pattern it after my '03 Rubicon and I think it turned out pretty good. It was Shale Green just like my TJ Rubicon. I've since sold it, but I kept the bumper that I built. I modified an ARB to accept a 9.5ti Warn up top. Tires are 285's...approx 32"
Heck no...if I DID own a dealership, I wouldn't sell any of them..I'd just keep em' probably!! lol That is our local Jeep dealership. They are good people, and have many locations here. We've bought all of our cars from them...GM and Jeep.
Throughout the years, I've bought the "no excuses" Jeeps as an investment of sorts. I enjoy them, and can get my money back at some point in the future if I decide to sell them before I pass. I just really enjoy them...it's my hobby. I don't spend money on anything else really, except my Jeep collection. They can be expensive, but not nearly as expensive as the muscle-car market. My goal was to buy some really nice survivor CJs that would appreciate in value over the years. The TJ and LJ represent the last true "Jeep" in my opinion...very close styling to the CJ, heavier sheetmetal, and 4.0L. I think that's why you see the TJ's and LJ's priced so high these days.
I've bought a few other restoration candidates along the way...to give me something to do in my later years!! This M38 is in super shape, and just needs to be taken apart and cleaned/painted and put back together. The 1969 Commando is one I want to resto-mod....make it look like a NAPCO GM of sorts...a little lift with white steel smoothies...trim fenders a little. The Willys pickup will be a nice restoration as it is very solid.
on it's first trip since the axle swap:
