Thanks, the Jeep is now sporting a XRC 8 Comp and a Smitty front bumper. I'm waiting "patiently" for my rear bumper/carrier by BSERK of Jeepforum to be delivered mid/late July. I'm looking at storage/sleeping solutions for it and found this place in searching. Turns out I have found a couple people on here that I know locally from other forums.

Ian is definitely a fan of the skinny pedal and I'm a crawl until you can't crawl it type, and yeah, he can build like crazy, I wish I could fab like that.

Glad I found this site

I'm enjoying the idea of an expedition Jeep... I'm glad I found this site!

I love Jeeps...and I'd love to have one of every one made if I could!! lol Here are a few that I currently own. I'm glad I've found other addicts who enjoy Jeeps as much as I do.

Here is a 30K mile original survivor 1983 CJ-7...just like the one I owned years ago.

Here is my newest acquisition... a 1984 Sebring Red Laredo 4.2L Auto with 60K original miles, all original.

One of my favorites...I bought this CJ-6 already restored...V-6 Dauntless and all...

I built this KJ Liberty "just because", and I loved how it turned out. I wanted to pattern it after my '03 Rubicon and I think it turned out pretty good. It was Shale Green just like my TJ Rubicon. I've since sold it, but I kept the bumper that I built. I modified an ARB to accept a 9.5ti Warn up top. Tires are 265 x 75R16's...32"

Here is the 2003 Rubicon that I still own...with only 2500 miles. Long story...this was to be my Brute candidate, but years went by and with only 2,000 miles I couldn't cut it and it already 7yrs old. It's become a survivor all on it's own, so I let it be. My children might appreciate it one day. :) RE 4.5" short arm, 1" BL, 1" MML, and Nth TT skids with 315 MTR's.

2005 Rubicon Sahara with 15K miles. I fell in love with the Unlimited, and wanted to build a Khaki one, so I found this low mile LJ in KY. I'm hoping to modify it soon!

Here's one of my Daily Drivers...and I hope to get it lifted and loaded by Fall of the year. I'm really excited about camping with the family and hope to finally see it complete with trailer and roof-top tent.

Here is my other Daily Driver and I LOVE THIS JEEP. It's hard to think about getting rid of it. Jasper 4.0L, auto, Currie HP 9" rear with Detroit and discs, Currie 9" front with ARB, winches front and rear, and a new set of the "original" Buckshot Mudders and they are 35's or slightly taller...I'll have to take a look at the size and edit my post. I've never run another tire on this jeep in the 14 years I've owned it. I ran them all over Tellico, and the are super in the mud and clay. I didn't balance these wheels/tires and they are more than fine for daily driving! I have an early Tomken lift with additional spacers up front so I'm not sure of my "net" lift because it's been so long! Oh yeah...my spare is in the original location...all 35" of it! I have the rear seat removed as I use this XJ to work out of.

If I get smart one day, I'll scan some of my trail pics from tellico...all of mine are from years ago before I had a digital camera! Guess that dates me!!

Now that I'm older with a family, the idea of an expedition grade Jeep is all the more exciting. I can get back in the woods safely with my family, and we can enjoy the outdoors. I won't take them to the rough stuff like I used to ride...but we can certainly make some good memories this way. Thanks for letting me share my hobby and love of Jeeps with you all!

Heck no...if I DID own a dealership, I wouldn't sell any of them..I'd just keep em' probably!! lol That is our local Jeep dealership. They are good people, and have many locations here. We've bought all of our cars from them...GM and Jeep.

Throughout the years, I've bought the "no excuses" Jeeps as an investment of sorts. I enjoy them, and can get my money back at some point in the future if I decide to sell them before I pass. I just really enjoy them...it's my hobby. I don't spend money on anything else really, except my Jeep collection. They can be expensive, but not nearly as expensive as the muscle-car market. My goal was to buy some really nice survivor CJs that would appreciate in value over the years. The TJ and LJ represent the last true "Jeep" in my opinion...very close styling to the CJ, heavier sheetmetal, and 4.0L. I think that's why you see the TJ's and LJ's priced so high these days.

I've bought a few other restoration candidates along the way...to give me something to do in my later years!! This M38 is in super shape, and just needs to be taken apart and cleaned/painted and put back together. The 1969 Commando is one I want to resto-mod....make it look like a NAPCO GM of sorts...a little lift with white steel smoothies...trim fenders a little. The Willys pickup will be a nice restoration as it is very solid.

How did you fit 285s? What is the full tire size? And what size lift? You might just have the biggest tires to be put on a IFS KJ. (There is a guy with 35s but its waiting for a sas.

Tires on the KJ were 265 x 75's...thanks for catching that. 285's are 33" and the 265's are 32". I corrected it in my original post...thanks!

I think I ran Rusty's full lift...2.5" or 3"....I can't remember. I beat the pinch seams flat in order to run that large of a tire. After I installed the bumper and winch, it settled a bit, and seems like I had to run a spacer up front to level it back out. I handled great, and articulated well for an IFS setup. I kept the bumper "just in case" I wanted to build another one sometime. ;)

If I can ever find time to get such a shot, I'll post it here. I have them stored in a few different places...and I'm hoping to build a garage to keep them in soon.

I posted a few months back but I figured new tires means new pics :ylsmoke: 265/70r17 BFG At's on JK wheels, no lift and so far they only tag the front inner fender at full lock with the wheel stuffed... Also in the pic is one of my m101 trailers, this one happens to be for sale. Since I don't have a truck I use my other M101A3 trailer to haul stuff to the dump, do yard work, haul the dirtbikes around, basically everything...

man you sound like a future me :D, i have an absolute OBSESSION with not only jeeps but the automotive industry in general, i grew up working on race cars and now am fortunate enough to get my hands dirty on an indy car or two here and there, but one day i hope to have a respectable jeep collection going, as well as a few other cars such as a factory five GTM which is the newest addition to the wish list :sombrero: i could literally sit here for hours listing off cars that i would love to own, ive worked on a few muscle cars but they are alot more pricey than a jeep. you can turn a respectable profit off of a restored jeep though. its not only a good investment for your future, but your families as well, and heck, own enough and you could leave the loved ones each a vehicle of their own :)
