I'm torn between the nice JK and the scenery there! WOW!!! Talk about the best of both worlds!!! Great pictures!

Well....its taken me a week or so to get through this whole thread. Some awesome Jeeps in here. I'm looking to get an XJ, ZJ, or WJ in the near future (got to sell my current daily driver, a lowered VW). There is some serious inspiration in here.

My dad has always loved Jeeps, I grew up with two XJ's, a black 5-speed and a white auto, both great vehicles, we ended up getting rid of them because we just wanted a new car, never had problems with them. Recently my dad had a KJ that I really liked, took up a hill or two and was impressed. Now he has a KK and although I'm not as impressed I still see the potential and now that he's lifted it I like it even more.

Here's a pic of it (cell phone). Daystar 2" Body Lift. The only spot I know nearby that I can see it flex a bit so I took it there, he unfortunately will never use it for what its for :(

I was considering the Jeep Patriot but I just love the Wranglers so when I came cross this deal I had to jump on it.

Future plans include roof rack, budget boost, disconnects, aussie locker and swing-away tire carrier.

4.0/5 speed, D44's, Detroit locker in front, ARB locker in back, rear disc brakes, SYE and beefed up t-case, 33" rubber, 7" fender flares to keep the cops happy, SOA with 1.5" lift springs, Tuffy secure glove box and 8" stereo console, BESRK rear bumper with tire carrier, Bestop side boxes, hand throttle, hard and soft tops with full and half doors, PIAA dual-beam lights, high lift jack, warn 8274 (waiting on installation), Shrokworks rocker armor (not shown in these pics), Cargo Master rack with Safari Basket, homemade cargo rack for rear seat area, homemade "insta-trunk", and a few other mods.

It's still a work in progress, with plans for other mods (roll cage, more armor, communications, etc.) but I like it.

First post. Been lingering a bit, trying to research what's going to be needed for some back country adventures. Researching tents and stoves right now.

So far I have a 93 grand Cherokee that I picked up $800. I knew it needed some work to be reliable for the intended use. Basically the whole drivetrain. Both axles were bent and the T case was bad. In went a 8.8/Detroit and a hp30 w/E locker along with a 231 SYE and both D/S. A major tune up and fixed the nasty trans leak. It has a RE S/A that has been cut up and extend. It's been giving me Notting but problems, so in goes a BDS L/A. Put a new radio in and a cobra 29, along with a Spot Connect. Installed dual batteries and a old inverter I had, and a 50qt ARB fridge. Rewired the lights and installed a Elec fan. Ive done alot of little things to get it ready for this adventure. Alot to do still before some short trips to shake it down. Love the site by the way!
