what is on the dash above the steering wheel? the long dark deal? don't think I have ever seen that or paid attention to one before...

ARB bumpers are very weak, both of my mounting brackets are slightly tweaked.

Do they cost that much now? I paid ~$550 retail in 2003.

I believe I paid $618 for my ARB bumper in 1999 and today it retails for $921.99.

It's a great bumper but I wouldn't pay that for it. At that price I'd weld one up as it's worth my time at that point (balance of finding time/money/interest).
When I bought mine I got it through Rusty's. He was having a deal on the bumper with a Warn M8000 for the combined price of $1000. On the phone said that he was effectively selling the winch for $450 and the bumper for $550 which ended up being ~$100 off each item when bought together. IIRC. It was a good deal at any rate.
I use it as a glorified winch holder and a deer defector. It works great for those purposes, the deer bounce right off and I've used it for pulling down old buildings here at my place.

new Moab pictures
As promised, here are some pictures from the weekend. Only carnage was a blown signal/hazard fuse from pressure washing the Jeep off after running Kane Creek on Friday.
I will say that there was an FJ Cruiser in our group that needed a lot of help even with the $8k or so he was blown on his rig, and he now has an excuse to upgrade his rear bumper....

This is a WWII rifle rack for M1 and M1 Grand....some modern rifles also fit ....thx...pjc

the cheapest I found it was a little over 1,000. i didn't look to hard because I figured after seeing that price that I wouldn't find one that is much cheaper than that...
