Awesome! Love your p38. Its nice to see one out there being used how it should be. Hows your luck been with reliability? People generally dismiss them here for ever being used for over landing

We covered 5000 miles in two weeks, most off road. The only thing we had to do was to disconnect the ABS sensors from three of the wheel, other than that, never let us down at all.
We initially had the mick taken out of us when we said we were going in a P38, however, that was short lived when we ended up being the main recovery vehicle after others we getting stuck... and quite often.

Well, at least the snorkel will be good this time of year. Its flooding all over down there. Monsoon season is in full effect.

Yeah saw (rain) Moab on weather channel forecast looks great for next week though I think Ive only seen rain in Moab once since we've been coming

Mick,

How long is the drive and how do you break it up? I am wanting to take the kiddos to Ouray from Knoxville. I go to St. Louis regularly because that is where I grew up and go back to visit my parents. Just worried about that much driving with the the kids...but honestly, I think everyone needs at least one major road trip.

This was March of this year. 12+ inches of snow. This is one of the few trails I dared to run with all the snow.

I would say it is 2 long days from Knoxville for us I-70 all the way to Grand junction first day we hit it hard Kansas sucks (about 8-9 hrs worth) we will try and make it to Summit county (Silverthorne or even Eagle) (14 hrs)the first night since we are trailering we stop often another 3 and half or 4 hrs to Ouray we are stopping in Ridgeway (where our guide service/flyshop is) last year we took the southern route through C. Springs/Manitou I think it took just as long on the windy roads I can't imagine your kids being any more to drive with than the guys I go with so give it a go

That is kinda of what I was thinking. I am debating going through St. Louis or just going on I40. Potentially to the Grand Canyon first. If we are driving...well lets see the country. Is the guide service fly fishing/fishing only or also for your off road trips?

Just curious. We also have two vehicle choices. My wife's mkIII and my LR3. I am leaning towards the range rover because of the better gas mileage and larger fuel tank. However, my LR3 has more storage and skids/sliders. I really want to do Imogene Pass and see a few ghost towns. I just don't know if her range rover would do Imogene Pass. It is unarmored and basic street tires at the moment. I am sure it is capable but between the driver (me) and the lack of skids etc. I am nervous. She would not like me damaging her car.

When are you planning this trip? Snowing now on I70 through the high country.
