Mrs. Legacy and I were in Las Vegas away from our kids for a couple days and decided to check out Red Rock, NV.

Looks very nice, pardon the hijack, but:
1) Any rubbing with that size tire?
2) Any suspension height mods required?
3) Is your spare the stock full size spare, or can you fit the 285/60 under there?

Thanks

1. Rubbing is almost non-existent on-road. I'd imagine there's a little rubbing going on because I can see where the rubbing takes place, but very minimal. There is a wire harness that you need to relocate up front on the driverside, but it's nothing a ziptie can't fix. I also avoid full-lock situations.

2. No suspension ride height mods. This tire size allows me full versatility of the factory EAS including EAS Failure. If the springs lower to the bump stops I can still continue to drive w/o rubbing the fender wells. 265/65/18 is the biggest one can go before EAS faults become an issue.

3. My truck came with a full-sized alloy, but I upgraded the tire size to match. 285/60 us a tight squeeze, but fits w/o modification to the spare storage compartment. It'll hang down a couple inches lower, but no lower than your diff. You will lose your ability to install a trailer hitch receiver. If you are pulling a trailer you can relocate the spare to the trailer. Air down your spare to around 18psi and use a jack to assist placement to take strain off the crank cable.

Land Rovers on the Fordyce Trail

Here's my buddy's D1 w/3" lift swimming (lol) to get to the trail - we have several LRs cross after w/no issue. Just # 1 rule - don't stop!

And then mine heading up Winch Hill #1 of the Fordyce Trail and last picture making it up the hill.

Funny you should mention that...there's a (slight) chance I'll be around that weekend, might have to see if there's any way I can swing it.

And sorry about the thread hijack...to make up for it, here's a pic of my SII before I started tearing into it:

Deployed for the night

This was on our tour through the far northern region of South Africa. Regret, we only had a week in the bush.DSC_0730.JPGDSC_0882.JPGDSC_0810.JPGDSC_0761.JPGDSC_0884.JPG

Fold down step on front bumper?

I dont know what the previous owner thought when he put it on, maybe he used it.
Up to know i left it on, but to no use, bumped it several times though.
I'm thinking to remove it and fit it at the front passenger side for the wife that she can get into the defender, she is a shorty.

This is my 04 Discovery SE7. It has 05 Range Rover wheels with 255/55 Goodyear MTR's, Borla exhaust, roof rack with ladder and some other small goodies. I have an OME 1.75" kit on the way since my suspension is due for some fresh springs at almost 70k miles. I need to get some better pictures.
