hey fireball, is that a ladder on a swing out? if it is thats a fantastic idea and solves my problem of how to mount a ladder for the rear of my yukon with a lift gate. got any more pics of it?

That's a Slee Offroad Bumper for the 80 or 100 series. It is a ladder on a swingout or a modular mounting solution. I have a shovel and Maxtrax mounted to mine.

Can anyone identify these latches?

I just made this for a friend and local club member for his 80-series. Very happy with the Allegis heavy duty slides, especially for the fridge. The heavy duty slides were probably overkill for the smaller drawer under the fridge though. He has the right side drawer loaded up with all his tools and recovery gear and it slides super smooth.

Vector. Allegis sells them. If you want a pair I may have an extra set that I can sell you.

That said, they are super finicky to install and you better know what you are doing. In my opinion they are not needed for your set up if you are using the heavy duty lock in lockout slides. Here's a picture of the jig you will need to make to install them properly.

Fireball,

Thanks for the quick response! I like the look and the fact that they are a compression latch, maybe I'll just stick with something simpler.

They are sharp though, Very nice job you did.

Funny story... there are side wings/access panels under the cargo box. We like to keep Keirin's food under the wing that he sits under. Problem is he then spends all his time sniffing at the carpet and trying to dig it up to get to his food and treats! So they had to be relocated to inside the drawer box so he'd stop fussing after it!

Incidentally, here are some quick pics of the drawer slide I made for the 80-series cargo box setup. This is super simple, but a very nice solution at ~$200 in materials. If you can cut a piece of aluminum to size and drill some holes, you can build your own nice slide

Tried sending you a PM seems your a little popular lol. But loving this set up I was hoping you had some more pictures of the building process. I'd like to see if I can make something similiar for the back of the Tacoma now that I have a proper shell. Also still have those pictures

Thanks for the alert, just cleaned out my private message box so should have some space.

What kind of photos are you looking for, I'll see what I can dig up.

I hardly post in any threads but I would like to share what I have built over the 2 days im off work. I would also like to say thank you to all that have shared their projects for me to have some ideas on a drawer system for my FJ. Also included a picture of the fly fishing pole storage I bolted with clamps on the stock roof rack and mounts for a shovel in the back. This system will work for a weekend camp and fishing locally. Will add maybe a fridge/freezer later on for a future month expedition down in the mainland.

Finally got step 1 complete, 2010 Xterra

Step 1 is finally complete. The pictures show the method it is securely attached, 6 holes drilled into the side of the factory tracks, and provides access to the underfloor storage. It took me some time, but is very simply made and goes from the very back of the seats to the door. I only had 10 minutes to load it with what I could toss in. The underfloor storage fit a full change of clothes, towel, random small items, boots and a raincoat. As you can see the left side fits a flat plastic container and the right will hold all of my tools when they are moved into a set of bags from their current toolbox.

Moving forward in the short term, I'm going to cover the top with a rubber mat and find a method to tie down items on the sides since I left the sides open for now. A future project will make a platform and storage area that covers the passenger side rear seat area when it is folded down or removed. That extension will provide enough length for me to sleep with my head on the front seat folded flat.

This is a great thread!

Still in progress but is anything ever finished?

The table works inside the van as well and stores under the bed. Will probably steal one of the locking slides to go on another drawer next to it. That way I can just buy the regular slides and pair one with one. I'm making the drawers to fit storage containers so I can pull them out to picnic tables at campsites as well.

There are hatches for access to under the bed on the sides as well.

The slides are pretty sturdy.
