Post up your drawer/storage system

Depends on how you want to finish it.

I am going to upholster the shell of mine with carpet so I used 3/4" Sande plywood for my shell, http://www.homedepot.com/p/Sande-Pl...ual-0-709-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-454559/100037820
I used 1/2" birch for the drawers, because I may stain or paint those.
If you are going to stain, go with Birch. If you are going to upholster or Line-X then the Sande should be fine.
My girlfriend just finished staining the faces which are also 3/4" sande ply and she had to hit with 220 grit between coats, as the grain tends to rise. They are looking really sharp after 3 coats of the stain/poly combo she is using. I'll post more picture soon.

Thanks for the info. I never thought about what kind of finish. I am planning on line-x though for the finish. I spent a lot of time on the beach with sand so I thought the line x would hold up better to that.

Installed my trunk storage today in my Jeep Grand Cherokee WK.
Because my spare wheel doesnt fit under the car anymore, I was driving with the spare in the trunk the whole time.
On the roof is my roof tent, so I started reading this thread.
The storage can be used with rear bench or without.
I will make some changes in the finish and then I start part 2 of the project.
Part 2 will be a system to fix my Zarges Alu Boxes and the Engel Refrigerator instead of the rear bench and obove everything I will make a small sleeping plattform.

Nice tie down tracks. Like the radius instead of the square type. Do you know whose brand those are? How about a little details on the portable power pack?

Sorry if I missed an earlier post, but what slides are you using?

Thanks,

A.

Not cheap but super high quality.
The small drawer uses 24" self close from home Depot.

Might check your scroll wheel fluid. Could be a little low.

I had today off so I started building our drawer system while my wife was at work. Nice little surprise for her when she got home. :ylsmoke:

I still have to build the drawers. The panels are cut for the sides but I ran out of MDF for the bottoms and I haven't picked up the sliders yet. One drawer will have the kitchen with a camp stove and cookware, and a sliding panel for food prep.

I was even able to keep my 12" sub, it will live under the drawers now and there is still plenty of space down there for a tool kit and small items.

I am going to build a third drawer that will go on top, and next to it will be a sliding platform for the cooler (eventually a fridge). I'm going to paint everything with a textured finish and then maybe rubberized diamond plate or something on the top where the tent and luggage will go. Still mulling over latches, too.
