Post your "burbs" for my brother Paul

Alright here is the deal. My brother owns my mom's old 88 suburban that we drove growing up. Totally stock, minimal rust, runs well etc. With the exception of the two of us confusing it for an offroad truck as teenagers it's never been abused (well there was that rear end I shattered, long story involving a very expensive 14 hour recovery) He has kept it all this time figuring he was going to do something with it. Until now it's been sitting in his driveway, but I think he is getting serious about it now, and I need a trail partner so.....

Post up your sweet suburbans to help inspire him. He asked about this website the other day so I know he is lurking. :smiley_drive:

Somewhere in Fargo ND, there might still be what you see here - a guy went to elaborate measures to graft a Chalet shell on a '79 'burb. Despite numerous calls and email replies to his Craigslist and Kijiji ads, no response from the seller was received by me or others.....

Right on guys, keep them coming. I know there are some more suburbans out there. They don't have to be yours either, if you see some cool ones throw them up here.

Yeah, that's one of Colorado Ron's rigs. Sweet build somewhere on here. I was about going to suggest getting pics of it. Wish we had pics of our 77 burb on the computer, then I'd upload them for you, but I don't know where the prints are of it.

Here is a 1988 GMC Suburban 2500 I put together for a buddy about 3 or 4 years ago. My buddy lives in Detroit was looking for a solid rust free square body suburban project, which solid and rust free do not go together in the same sentence for anything older than 8 years old in Michigan. I found this Sub here in town for cheap and he shipped me a brand new crate high performance marine version of the 6.5L along with some fancy custom turbo, intercooler, etc and I put it all together. It ran very well for a 6.5L when it was done. It smoked like a freight train but pulled like one too.

While I had it the rear semi float 9.5 rear axle got canned in favor of a 10.5 full floating rear axle fitted with a Detroit locker then my buddy flew out and drove it 2,000 miles back to Detroit where it got fresh paint and many many other goodies. It is now is his Michigan UP play thing. Wish I had current pictures of it. It was a fun project!
