Now THAT'S a Montero. Beautiful truck.

IMO the GEN II.5 SR was absolutely the best looking and performing model out there. Ours was in "Glacier White" and couldn't find a better looking truck. My dad still kicks himself for getting rid of it.

Thanks, Right now I'm in Louisiana, but I grew up in Flower Mound and my family still lives there. I'll be there around Christmas time. And I went to Texas Tech out in Lubbock.

Send me a PM when you come up, if you will. Would be cool to get a couple montys together.
Where abouts in Louisiana are you from? Born and raised in Rapides Parish myself, went to NSU in Natchitoches.

My Montero

Living in Lebanon for 4 years, I knew the only "Jeeps" (as they called them) to buy was a non Jeep. The best options were Pajeros/Gallopers, Prados (Land Cruisers), Nissan Patrols and Range Rovers/Discovery's
I actually learned to drive on a 1990 Montero when I was about 12. It was in Lebanon and my dad had brought it there with us when we moved in 1996. Then when we came back in 2000, they bought a 1996 LS. And now, I purchased a '98 just for a weekend warrior. Here it is.

More info on the swap??!! What are advantages of this and what all is required?

it was very difficult because of the engine being a four main bolt and not a two main bolt like all the other 3.0 monteros! you had to find a rear sump oil pan but just take it from the 3.5 i found out after buying four oil pans! im in the process of welding one to fit the turbos! it is much quicker and has alot more power! even with out the turbos! and my 3.5 was known for blowing up after a bit! haha! i like the swap! we also took the intake plunem from the 3.5 and the fuel injectors! and put a wood spacer to fit to the plunem wouldnt hit the valve covers! overall i love it! it makes wonderful power!

X2! it would also help keep this "show me" photo thread on track.

PIC'S TOO!!!!!! Maybe a build thread??
haha ill try i didnt take any pics in the process! it looks ugly at the moment im making sure it doesnt have any malfunctions before i put all the plastic covers back on haha! mine was rednecked to death and tones of bolts rung off inside everything! so im currently getting a new plunem! OH IF YOU DO IT YOU WILL HAVE TO MAN HANDLE YOUR MOTOR MOUNTS BACK INTO POSITION!
