Camping at Nahatlatch Lakes BC

Truck setup run for my 7 day run in August. Other than a slight packing issue everything ran well.

I sleep in the back on a fold up cushion arrangement, it works out pretty well.

No bears sighted but at least one big black bear in the area based on scat size, always makes for an interesting evening waiting to see if he was going to show up.

Thanks Marty1977, unfortunately that area is best seen late May early June before school is out and mid week. There is a route from Boston bar to Harrison (Koopi Pass) that I want to checkout from that end, to see how 2 slides were doing, but alot of heavy equipment for logging working the pass. Still iffy for my Pathfinder. But if you get to BC aim for mid to late July through August the snow is mostly gone and there is lost of back country to see.

That is what I am hoping for in August Wreckdiver, nice alpine locations with great views, figure I should get one nice spot in 7 days.

I am in BC so starting in the SE corner (Fernie) going north possibly as far as Prince George (time permitting) then south until I am back home in the Vancouver area. It should be mostly FSR's with some hiway through the parks, I am trying to figure away up into the Williams Lake area from the SE, that is a little tricky. I will do what ever side trips seem like fun. I try to get far from any crowds, less of a problem mid week but still I like the quiet.

Great trip! Almost two weeks just me the girlfriend and the dog and we still like each other!
We wandered through the Cariboo Chilcotin country in British Columbia Canada, hiking, fishing, and exploring.
Our new Rooftop Tent from Treeline Outdoors http://treelineoutdoors.com is great, and the truck performed well apart from the battery going flat when we were stopped for a few days.
We learned many things about how to improve our setup, better storage, better organization, etc.

I like how you expanded your living space in the short bed. I have a softopper like you and I'm curious how the tent is being supported, since the softopper does not have a rigid back window.

So, the original iteration was some 8' 2x2's.
That was kind of rough so i made a telescoping PVC setup. 3.5' length bolted under the cap rack of 3" PVC then 2" nestled in it that expands to hold the top up. Works great.
Also with the tailgate down it is perfect for me and the lady and our dog to sleep in there.
