Post your Propex heater install pics

Been kicking around buying a Propex for several years and I think this is the year I finally pull the trigger. I have a Jeep that's getting the UMV J30 pop top camper, but I can't decide on a hard mount heater install or the AT Propex in a box solution (portable). Part of me thinks the hard mount so that's one less thing I have to load up, lash down, pull out, etc. The other option (portable) would allow me to move it when I change vehicles, put it outside for less noise and run the duct work through the tent material, not have to drill a hole in the jeep for the exhaust, etc. I'd like to see some pics of finished Propex installs and maybe some feedback on how you like the way you set it up.

Proplex heater

Purchased the Proplex heater the HS2000 a while ago and love it as I made is mobil for my needs. I bought a Craftsman tool box and mounted it in there. It's a bit of a pain in the *** to mount the 2 SS hoses but all worked out very well and works great for my needs. See pictures. All of the electrical connections are marine grade and I use automotive quick clamps to install the ducting hose. The electrical and gas fittings are quick fittings as well. I wanted to make this easy and to be able to set up very quickly. I have 2 5 foot hoses one is a 60 mm hose and the other is I believe is a 55 mm hose. The 55mm slips snug into the 60 mm hose and acts as a extension for a longer run and if its a short run acts as added insulation. I just slip the hose into the side of the tent and extend it inside about 2' and that's hit works great. You have to be careful as your buddies find out they will want to borrow it!

For some reason It's not letting me send pictures of my set up. Email me here at visnav@sbcglobal.net and I will send you pictures of my set up. Ray

Possible sale

I'm considering selling mine. Mounted in a tool box. Works very well but I planned to use it as a tent heater. Unfortunately my wife looks at it a a Kevorkian device so we've only used it trice in in 4 years.

Shoot me a PM if you're seriously considering selling it and let's talk.

Are those quick connects special for propane or just regular compressed air fittings?
Nice setup by the way!

Hi, I took a break from ExPo over the holidays. I'll let you know within the next week or so what I plan to do. Mike

Mine is almost the same as Team BO's except for a Stanley toolbox. We've used it now for three years and are quite pleased with it. Everything stays in the toolbox even the screw drivers and wrenches.
