Hello guys and gals! I'm Paul and I just picked a 1996 Suburban 2500 4x4 diesel off of craigslist cheap. Several things I want to do is a 4-6" lift, ARB winch bumper w/ winch, lockers, roof rack, sliders, etc...

1994 2500

New to the forum. Here's my 1994 GMC K2500. 6 inch BDS lift on 35s. Stock drivetrain. 454 (possibly its second), 4.10s, factory rear locker. Leather interior, front and rear heat and a/c (needs to be recharged). I traded a car for it because it was a 3/4 ton with a big-block and leather. It needs to be repainted, probably black and/or red, because the white and black definitely isn't my style. Tranny slips, then goes into limp mode, but I've got about a grand worth of TCI and Mag-Hytec parts waiting to get put in. Oh, it needs a new grille also. I'm not a fan of "bling", so it'll get a black grille.

Just picked up this one

1997 4x4 4"lift.

Plans are to sort out all the little things and then set it up as a multipurpose camping / fishing / family mobile. Love it so far.

Picked this 2006 3/4 ton Suburban a couple months ago. Mainly does duty as our tow rig. 90k miles, quad captains, nav, 8.1L stump puller/gas guzzler. So far I've just added the towing mirrors, new brake pads and rotors at all 4 corners and dropped the trans pan to replace the filter and fluid.

AH, the last of the 2500 Burbs nice keeper. I'd look into a tune kit that has trans control to firm it up and usually the tunes increase mpg's if you keep your driving habits the same.

Here's a shot of my '89 V1500:

4" lift, Tuff Country H.D. springs up front, with Bilstein 7100 12" travel short body shocks with custom valving. Pro-Comp 56" rear springs, with Bilstein 5100's. Front has the stock 10-bolt, rear with a 12-bolt, and TrueTrac. 3.73 gears. 35" BFG A/T's on Centerline rims.

Still working on the interior... mounting a CB in the overhead console, and 2-meter will be on the front of the console between the front seats. Thinking of a removeable shelf in the very rear, which will not be in the way while sleeping in the rear. Need to find a K5 swing out tire carrier too.

Clay

How do you like the 4" Procomps int he rear? How does it ride and does it have any sag?

i have a thread going...bt right now its pretty much bone stock mechanically other than a new tranny and a hd towing converter and cooler (deep pan in spring)..set up as a tug boat to tow my 798hp nova SS street machine and for light duty camping.

who would you recommend for a 2 inch lift..considering 285s...the boards will prb go...but i do use them....lol

oh byw..i payed 500 bucks plus 150 for the tow bill home, its my second Burb(i owned an 86 1500 with captain chairs) ...my fourth chevy truck (88-98)..i LOVE these trucks.and so does my wife- cuz its fully optioned out.
