All these great examples of Expedition Suburbans have inspired me to post some of mine. My father always had trail ready suburbans and blazers since I was in pull ups. Mine is a 2002 2500 8.1. Superlift braket lift, Eaton tru trac, Fox reservoirs, compressor, winch, duals batteries, custom skids, HD hood, reinforcements and lots more expedition necessary items. Here are a few pics I had on my phone.

Its a 15k Mile Marker Winch mount/gaurd and a 12k Rough Country winch. The guard is a nice peice it mounts at six locations and the winch carrier sits up high. Was a real pain to install. I think mile marker still has some of these left on the clearance page for 175.00 regularly 1000+

Outlaw.. What lift height do you have??

Nic
2010 suburban

Its a 6-7.5 inch superlift system I think around six inches and the rear is a 4 inch. More specifically I put 2500hd z71 jounce bumpers and the bumpers are almost laying on the lower arm. Lots of people really jack up the ride height with these superlifts. I wanted my cv's almost straight and the bumpers functional. I didn't do this on my 93 2500 suburban and performance and ride quality suffered due to no down travel.

I like it! I would have preferred to get a 2500 when I was shopping but they are tough to find. I ended up with an 05 Z71 instead. I do want to get an HD hood and mirrors for it, but those are low on the priority list.

Thanks! the z71s are slick also. I love the roof rack, body colored bumpers and fender protection.

Here is my 88 ¾ Ton 4x4. Unfortunately I don't have time to build it up the way I want right now and the wife has spoken so now I have to get rid of it.

When I get my burb back from the trans shop.....again, I will get some shots. I'm definitely doing the HD hood. Love that. I have decided on rancho 9000 for the shocks too. That coupled with new front end parts, lift and new springs she should be money.

Hi, excellent work on your Sub. Looks like the perfect offroad vehicle with a bit of luxury added to the mix. I had a question about the 8.1 for you (or anyone else who drives an 8.1 4x4), since I have been considering buying a Suburban or Yukon XL with that engine.

Can you say whether it's fun to drive? I mean, does it accelerate like a bat out of hell? This would be my daily driver.. gas mileage is of no concern as long as it's fast and fun to drive. Nothing makes me smile quite like punching the gas pedal on a huge truck.

Its OK. It goes quicker from 20-60 than 0-15mph. I ran mine (285/75/20 tires, CAI, exhaust) down the 1/4 miles. 17.xx at 88mph. The stock tuning makes for HORRID torque management before 10mph. Once past 10mph, torque management starts to loosen up. I'll get a Diablo Sport tuner if I don't sell my sub to get rid of the management.
