I have exact same truck, I been looking for what lift and shocks to run. What model shocks and lift did you use? How do you like the ride on and off road? What size tires? That's exactly what I'm going for!!!

:)Here's my 02 Yukon XL 2500 with 8.1. Went from two previous cummins trucks to this one. This 8.1 is a beast and pulls almost as hard as my 6.7 cummins. It's a blast to drive and I'm sure will be better when I get a black bear tune someday. It's got stock suspension with 265 Cooper STTs. LOVE the tires!! I pulled my 4,200lb Fleetwood Evo3 (my expo camper) through some decent mud during deer season. It was pitch dark an I had three kids in the truck. Between the beastly 8.1 and the Coopers it chugged along an pulled the trailer about 100yds through this to the final destination which was a hay barn we set up camp in for a few days. Then it pulled it right back out. Love the truck, love the camper!!I'd eventually like to fit some 33-35" tires under there to improve my departure angle. So far that's the only limitation I've found on the truck. I've had a hard time finding a decent lift though, not many choices.

Great family camping pics. Nice trailer set up. How much weight can you put in the forward cargo area? (Thinking about tongue weight).

Thanks, Rental! Manual says 1k. But I've heard of people putting more and using anti-sway trailer hitch. It pulls like a dream because it has leaf sprung axles with HD shocks. And like I said, the 8.1 doesn't even realize it's there.

I finally got around to snapping some more pictures of my pig. I could not have asked for a better stock platform for this price. Its taken us to the mountains, the beach, hauled lumber, carried an entire platoon of men, and the best part is, THE KIDS LOVE IT!

Its pretty big on the inside. Those are actually adults in full size lawn chairs ;-)

And having the four captain chairs is probably my favorite option. It creates a "walk through" to the back. Great for when it rains up here...... so always.

Also picked these guys up for a good price. I wanted a Dana 60 for the front, but this FF 14 bolt rear and Dana 44 front will be more axle then I will need for a while. So I'll be slowly building these in the garage along with a lift and when its complete, I'll swap them out.

I want to build out the rear of the suburban too. It has these small wood boxes over the fenders now. I plan to build something similar, but extend the full length of the back and an inch or two taller and deeper.

Someone asked about these awhile ago too. The PO just cut out the door panel to create storage. I like it, but I don't know If i'll keep it this way once I insulate the whole body for winter camping.

Oil eater.
Cool Burb. That's my favorite color.
Kennedy Electric here in San Diego used to get Forest Service vehicles. I regret not acquiring one of the Suburban 2500 TBI,4-speed, low mileage manual units.

As far as the door cubby goes put an insulated door over it. Open to use.
