I have a 2012 JKU and am running my ARB 50QT off of the stock 12V DC Always-on charger plug in the rear cargo area. I am still using the stock battery, have left the fridge running 52 hours before (set to 27F, the sweet spot on mine), and it did not reach the low voltage cut-off at ambient temps in to 75-80 range. The ARB 50QT is rated to draw 0.8A (intermittently), that's not very much at all. I can, in about 10 minutes, route a dedicated plug to it, but haven't found a need to. If I was hitting the low voltage cut-offs every 48 hours or so, then I'd try to do that. But, so far, alternating days on what vehicle to drive, the fridge is always on and never shuts off.
I have 2 Group 34/78 Optima Yellow Tops waiting for my Benchmark Designs dual battery tray to arrive. It's not stated on their site, but if you call them up, they do have a new version for the 2012's. Just, be prepared to wait a while for it, but from the people I talked to, you'll be satisfied at the quality of work they do when you finally do get it.

Thanks all. I have the 2012 JK so at the moment no viable option for an aux battery at the moment so all ideas on the table.
