Does anyone have any experience with the powermonkey extreme solar handheld charger? I would like to use this on river Kayak/ backpack trips and wanted some Expedition Portal experienced feedback. The only comments on the forum I found where from the Shot Show in 2012. I like it because its small and (maybe) more water proof than the goal zero. Any first hand knowledge would be appreciated!:)

Heres a link to one http://www.amazon.com/Powertravelle...F8&qid=1433463515&sr=8-2&keywords=powermonkey

Thanks Bill, I did not realize Renogy made small chargers like that. The big panel on my mammoth trailer is made by them and it has performed excellently. I agree that they make a great product.

Thats also good stuff I had not seen on the Outdoor Gear Lab site, thanks frgtwn.

I saw an unopened powermonkey on craigslist unused for 60 bucks obo so that got me wondering about the product!

I have the Powermonkey. I actually haven't used the solar panel yet. But I did use the battery pack on a recent 6 day backpacking trip in Alaska. I was able to keep my IPhone 5 charged for all 6 days using the battery pack and didn't have to break out the solar panel. I'll try to report back once I've used the panel, but it seems like a well made product and a bit heavier duty than most. Comes with a ton of adapters for charging different devices.

Thanks for that. I look forward to your review! Someone scooped up my craigslist deal but I still want one. I need heavy duty!
