Pro Comp 16x8 wheels on a 60 series landcruiser?

I'm thinking about going to 16" tires. This calls for an upgrade from the 15x6.6" stock rims (6x5.5" lug and 3.75" backspace).

The Pro Comp Rock Crawler Series 87 is available in 16x8 with a 3.75" backspace. Since I don't want to widen my stance anymore than necessary, this seems like the ideal size.

Can anyone confirm whether this, or any other Pro Comp 16x8s will fit on a 60 series?

I would also try Discount tires. They did a test fit at the shop with the new tires and rims before I did the purchase, they were very helpful.

The backspacing needs to be right to avoid affecting the stance, the center opening must be large enough for the hubs, and the spokes have to be at such an angle that they clear calipers, tie rod ends, etc.

All 6x5.5" wheels are not alike, unfortunately.

From looking through Discount Tire's site, they don't have many candidates but I'll probably just drive over there and see what we can work out.

I also just learned in another thread that 255/85/16 tires don't seat well on a 16x8. I'm thinking about a 16x7 now. That probably means no 12.5" tires but I'm hoping a 16x7 could handle either 255 (~10") or 285 (about 11") tires.

Ordered 6 Unique 42-7760 16x7" ris at discount tire. They are confident it will fit but I'm nervous.

If they don't I'm kinda SOL as I have to leave town and can't wait to order something else.

Anybody tried these on a 60?

Van-Hagar fan? Or just heading to Cabo? New shoes are looking good! I think you will love the KM2s too...
