Short version because this is dangos thread.
It started as a 79 2wd, previous owner did a horrible job at swapping in a 6.2 diesel. I converted it to 4x4 with a D60 and a 14BFF and shortened the frame and built in aprox 7" of lift and added 3" rancho soft ride springs. As I dug into it further the fuel lines and brake lines where rusted out and the wiring was a total mess. After 3 different 12v cummins deals fell through I lost interest, and it currently sits out back untouched for the last 2-3 years.

Mudy this up that is eaxctly what my truck will be this fall. I have a 75 crew cab I will be swapping on. Just going to make sure every thing works on the base first. Plus I have many projects and no time to have it down for 2 weeks.

Took the old beater out today. We had a good time till about 2 when The volt gauged dropped to below 10. So pop the hood and the charge wire is toasted. A little fix it and we are not on out way. The batter did not have enought to turn it over. So we try a little back yard to charge it up and that dont work . Then we walk to cell service and wait 3 hours for help to arrive. After a walk down to the main road to flag down out help. So no back at home I need a new alt and alt belt the alt locked up on the trip home.

Sorry to hear about the problems with your altenator, Dango. The good thing is that you can get a used one for cheap, and be back in business in no time!:)
