:bike_rider:well, that are all factory items - not my fault.
i've been working on the truck again over the weekend. finally finished the little bits missing on the roofrack. will get sandblasted tomorrow and then primered.

and a couple of small things as well - will post when i shot the pix...
cheers

well, i finally finished the roofrack and FINALLY dropped it off for sandblasting...
or actually it's blasted with steel (is that what beadblasting is?)

and then it gets primered with a slatwater resistant paint:victory:

can't wait to get it back!!!
then bolt on the boxes, the lights, mount the spare cans, etc.

and then only the tires are missing. (hope to get that sorted out this month!)
cheers

Well if thats how the paint job turned out on your rack I would get your money back :)

Hows the rack going as for rubbing on the paint work where it hangs on the tub??
I want to make one the same as yours but with out the front part just to hold my RTT, but the rubbing issue has me worried as the rack wont be mounted on the jeep all the time.

that's before the beadblasting :)
i'll pick it up next week! and it's only 40 bucks :victory:

i put the rack on rubber pieces. i used an old bicycle tube and cut it to the right size. it's very tough and thin!
i have no paint problems underneath. it works great!

The Old One

Hey Sven, Hmmm starting to look a bit like the old rig (have any idea what happened to that one in AU?) with the light boxes and the snorkel...looking forward to more....I never asked what size tires? w/ the lift and tires this rig just might look like the old one......O yeah large sponsor decals too.
Did you screen the back doors?

yep, it's the intension to take design elements from the old jeep and use it here too - sort of a trademark :)
tires should be 34-35"
decals will be different.
rear doors are screened.
more pics to follow...

the old xj got cut up in oz and transformed into an off-road camper trailer. (can't find a pic though)
looks pretty neat!
