PSA: Firestone lifetime alignment on sale ($50 off) ...

Finally finished installing the OME suspension and was ready for alignment. I'd planned on using a local off-road shop (recommended here) but they were closed yesterday and today. So, wanting the truck driveable before this weekend, I looked elsewhere. I read of Firestone auto center's lifetime alignment for $169 and that most customers had a good experience (i.e., the center was able to align lifted Tacomas/T4Rs/FJCs to within spec) so I figured I'd call one nearby. Low and behold they just started a $50 off campaign on the lifetime alignment, making it $119 (normally $169). That's not much more than I was going to pay for a one-time at the off-road shop!

Had mine done this morning and they were able to get everything to spec (have a copy of the before/after diagnosis printout). The truck drove straight after but, obviously, the tires were bowed in (off camber). It also felt a little loose on the brief highway spurt heading to the shop; perfectly compliant on the drive home.

So I can take the truck in any time as long as I own it. After trips, future suspension tweaks, etc.

This is a nationwide program at all Firestone centers, according to the local guy, and there are restrictions regarding lifts (more extreme setups are excluded).

**Not affiliated with Bridgestone/Firestone (and would never have thought to use them myself) ... just passing along!**

I did that too. I would say the ones in Colorado are mediocre at best, but I always seem to need an alignment after every trip and it usually is just a minor adjustment, and this is perfect for that.

Yeah, I'm sure it's hit or miss everywhere. I wouldn't have thought to use a Firestone or Purcells or Goodyear type place, since I normally think of them as tire centers first and "while doing what you asked, we found a whole bunch of other stuff that's gonna cost lots to fix" type place second. Plus, when dealing with lifted vehicles and tolerances outside factory settings but within spec, many of these places have no clue how to do it.

My Local Firestone here in the OC is great. I've probably had 12 alignments in the last two years. I did quite a few when I was messing with my new suspension and then did some after some rough off-roading.

Not sure of they are in your area or not, but look up EVANS TIRE

They offer 5 year alignments for $109 with unlimited re-alignments!

I just got one today and the truck drives awesome! Very happy! :clapsmile

5 years isnt "Lifetime" but i dont think i have EVER owned ANYTHING more then 5 years! :ylsmoke:

Which store do you use? I've got the 5 year policy but my local Evans (Vista) hasn't been that great. I'm due for another alignment. Maybe I'll try a different location.

Thanks for sharing!

Going to have check into this!

My truck needs one after last Moab trip!

Interesting. Thanks for the tip. I am assuming that the work can be done at any Firestone store.

FYI south Denver-ite Toyota lifted IFS owners (with cranked torsion bars they are notoriously hard to align), I've gone to the Firestone on Hampden, east of Santa Fe and the Firestone at I-25 and Arapahoe. The one on Arapahoe is close enough most of time and so I try to use that one. They test drive the truck and so far (knock on wood) never have had a horrible alignment. I paid I think about $125 for my lifetime alignment a few years ago and get in maybe 3 or 4 times a year. It's been so worth the money it's not even funny.
