Q-maxx Air Compressor

Anyone have one of these? $48 at Costco right now. Thought there was a thread out there but lost it...Currently I have a Xantrex 300 Plus inverter/compressor and I am wondering if for $48 I should replace it with a more powerful compressor. Most likely I'll be using it for the ride-rite air bags, bike tires and airing up the 265/75's after airing down but I have yet to do this. What do you guys/gals think...where is that dang thread :) . Thanks!

I have one of the MV-50's from Costco. Simply put, it's the best compressor on the market for that price. Quick and cheap and even comes with a nice little carrying case :)

OK, found the thread...seems like everyone is pretty happy with the unit...any more thoughts?

Just picked one up - they had it in the store. It's pretty darn impressive for such a small unit. Seems pretty well made to boot. Thanks for the lead fellas!

my minor gripe with them is the non-standard air fittings. When mine is a little more worn I will replace the fitting on the compressor head and get a standard hose and accessories.

jim, could you be more specific? what do you mean by non-standard air fittings?

He means the quick-connect fitting for the air hose is not the standard air compressor fittings. Easily fixed by removing the ones attached to the air compressor and installing the standard setup with an adapter you can pick up at Home Depot or Lowes. Just take in the compressors fitting to get the threads matched up. Screw in the adapter, screw on the standard fittings and use real air hose.

It seems to have everything I could want - tire inflator / deflator, ball needle and a standard cone adaptor. What am I missing that I would want to change this?

The deflator isn't exactly the best - slow and tough to get it right. I would suggest purchasing something else. Personally, I am happy with my ARB deflator but there are lots of different types on the market.
