You're not buying the material when you buy off-road armour you're buying the skills of whoever's making it. It's way harder than people realize to make it look right.

He's still around. I'm know Luke fairly well and we are both in grass valley.
While I can appreciate guys building there own stuff, me being a fabricator my self can guarantee none of us are getting rich with the prices we charge.
Sure you can build a bumper for 1/4 of the cost if you have all the right tools and skills but not everyone has that ability. Don't get me wrong, I completely encourage guys to get there tools out and build there own stuff, this is how I started out, but for me I always appreciated the time and effort vendors put into the products and never felt they were over priced, I simply just couldn't afford it so I had to build my own.

Again, can't wait to see what you come up with, and dimple die set can be had for pretty cheap on eBay.

Your exactly right, material is cheap, tools are expensive and not everyone has the skills or time to complete the tasks. I'm just like you starting off. I don't have the coin to spend on pre fab bumpers or armor. I have tools to build so I may as well learn how to do it at the same time.

Would you be able to contact Luke and ask if he still has bumper parts to sell? If so a price for the day kit. I can't find any info on his website about the front bumpers.

^^^Making the armor for my 4Runner was a real eye opener. I've always had a good eye for design. Putting that to practice was a different story. In the end I am proud of what I created.

Have you given any thought to what you are going to run for UCAs? Must be nice to work on a truck that has never seen the crap we put on the roads here.

Are those take offs headed for the junk pile or are you going sell them?

I'm thinking of using either camburg or total chaos. You have no idea how nice it is to use regular hand tools to 'break' free bolts. For me it's worth paying for a car out of the rust belt. Easier to work on, takes less time and it's worth more.

I'll see if someone wants them for their 4Runner or taco. Unless you'd like to make an offer. They look like new struts.

Does anyone know if the body side rubber brake fitting is 10x100 female convex or concave? Info needed for custom brake lines

I didn't know if you were going to go light racing just because of the salt factor. Looking at your 4 runner I'd say you are a lot better than me at keeping things clean! I ve got a buddy with a 4 runner who might want the coils that's why I ask I'll check with him tomorrow.

I thought about light racing but I was reading a lot of people were having alignment issues with them. I saw either camburg or total chaos came out with a hybrid tube ball joint upper control arm for taco as. Hope they the same for tundras.

Sweet build! Wishing I went with a DC sometimes. I too am a sucker for those bronze TRD wheels, but can't justify the extra loot. I ended up building a rear bumper from scratch. So true on how much work goes into one with limited tools and experience. After putting in close to 60hrs on the rear,I tapped out on the front and went with the relentless fab DIY kit. Saved a ******** load of time, happy with both. Very rewarding saying I built them when I get questioned. See if I can load some pics. Looking forward to following your build.

Give him a call, his number is on his website.
I will be offering a DIY kit for the tundra in the near future, not sure if it the style your looking for but it's extremely high clearance. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1454948727.785945.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1454948751.534621.jpg
The fit on a double cab is still up in the air but I don't think there would be an issue. With the DIY kit small changes could be made if needed.

How much different is the double cab vs regular cab? I've seen a lot of talk that there is differences but no one divulges what they are. I really like your bumper, there is a possibility that it will be seen on my truck.

I'm not sure exactly, I don't think there is much difference other than the flares but I have yet to get my hands on one.
I do have some guys willing to meet up with me with the DC so hopefully I will know soon.

Good news for me, I don't have flares! I know you have a lot of people asking about shipping time frame and price point. Do you still feel like the price posted is accurate?

Also after 4 miles on the icon suspension, I am in love. Worth the coin.

The main hold up now is the factory skid plate will not work with the high clearance bumper so I have to have a skid to offer with the bumper. If you didn't mind fabricating your own skid the DIY kits could be put together fairly quickly. I will work on getting things finalized in the next couple weeks.
The price for the DIY kit without skid will be about $625. I'll update my thread once I have things finalized.

Btw, the trucks coming along nicely!

Really? That much different. My eyes can hardly tell. If that info is correct the bumper benc is building won't even be close to fitting. I'll have to use my neighbors ac for reference.

I picked up my ARB 100 Series bumper Sunday and will take detailed pics of what it takes to install it on my double cab when I get a chance to get it on there. Pretty busy so it may be a bit.
