Fed up with the cheap Chinese ones failing and wondering what options there are out there...
Thinking the big rigs must have a way more reliable product and would like to see what you guys are using....
I think I can help. I work at a trailer store and we carry a nice variety of plugs , in the 7 pin we have really nice metal cased units. Which side are you looking for trailer or truck? For the wire from truck to trailer, I highly recommend www.jetconnex.com Let me know if you need any more help, and I'll get some pictures of the units we carry.
I pull various trailers for work and for play (mostly regular pick-up's) and the weakest part of the wiring is always the plug and where it connects.
I am currently re wiring a trailer and locally here there is just cheap fittings available so I thought I would ask and see what the port folks are using.
What I actually need is a female 7 pin bumper mount as well as a 4 pin version and might as well get the male ends too.
I really like the product in the above link from Detailbarn (thanks) and so far I'm thinking I might go that route...
Wouldn't mind some more links for quality comparable products though
I bought a molded 7 pin connector from Northern Tool. Might be worth a try it is made from a heavy rubber compound and seems pretty solid to me. Just a thought.
